It depends on the plant; some are shade or partial shade lovers, like spathyphyllium (Peace Lily), some prefer more sun, and some thrive or die depending on the environment like warmer, cooler, dryer, or more humid air than they are accustomed to.
Its good to check the specifics for your finer plants. Perhaps a partly sunny window would suit most of them and allow you the flexibility to decorate with the other ones that prefer less lite in other areas of the house like the bathroom.
