This is COMPLETELY normal!
The wisdom are embedded in your jaw and they have extremely intricate root systems.
You may get some bruising as well along your jaw line. It is not the easiest thing but it is a surgery and it will require a healing period regardless. Don't worry yourself too much about it!
Take care and Good Luck

I had the same problem... my oral surgeon told me to put ice on it for the first couple of days, and I did all day long for two days... then he told me to put a hot pack on for the rest of the days... and that is exactly what i did. I was out of school for about a week and a couple days, but the swelling finally went down... there really isnt that much you can do, take the pain pills, sleep, and do ice then hot packs... Good Luck!

Exactly what they are telling you to do. Everyone is different, I went to work the day after having my wisdom tooth pulled. It was painful, but with the meds and people at work I hardly noticed it. Had I stayed at home I would have had nothing to focus on but the pain. You'll be fine.

It's normal and the swelling will go down. I've seen many chipmunk cheeks from dental surgery.

You should try getting a second dental opinion,if this source says the same thing you should relax, keep the areas clean and get some pain-killers and let it take it's course!!!!

Just follow the docs instructions. It's only temporary.

What happened to me when I got my wisdoms out, the doc came out and called my name, then led me into his office. The name on the door was "Dr. Savage"

just wait the swelling will go down. It happens sometimes when you get your teeth pulled. my step mom had her wisdom teeth pulled and her face did the same thing.
