No you only said what you meant, you were not intentionally trying to hurt her feelings apologizing once is enough. She is probably use to it by now and to keep apologizing only makes the situation worse.

You're kidding right?
1) Why would an optometrist office hire a blind person? Since she'd be acting a receptionist and making appointments at the same time? Not to mention helping the doc when he needed it? And then they also help the customers pick and choose frames for glasses.

Okay, maybe you're not kidding, but I still fail to see the logic of it.
Like the others suggest, apologize to her and let it go, I'm sure it's not the first time she's heard it in her life.
And Yes, I apologize to you for thinking it's a joke question.

You should feel good that you feel bad. It means you have compassion ans empathy. You are probably not the first person to make that kind of remark. She works in an optomitrists office for Gods sake. It's alot of peoples fear to go blind. Just out of curiosity, did she tell you she was blind, or did you meet her and find out, because she could be messing with your mellon.
Good luck on your procedure.

You apologized once. Be more careful in the future. We all do things like that. Live a life of virtue and start to think more about the short and long term consequences of your actions.

Let it go. The more you go on about it the more you could possiby say something to upset her more or even piss her off. People make mistakes but maybe you should sensor what you say and how you relate things a little more.

Apologize. Sheepishly explain that you were an insensitive idiot. She may except your apology because she probably has heard it often and will not take it personally.

If you don't see her again don't worry about it. If you see her, apologize and tell her you have learned a lesson in sensitivity

Nerf herding is a good job you might consider. If this is a stranger you probably wont see her anyway, well she wont see you!
