I'm thinking of buying a new car cause my current one (a saturn) seems to be falling apart now that it's paid off...and it's coming up on 10 years old anyways. I reeeaaalllllly want to get a Toyota Celica (2000 - 2005 style) but I don't know anyone with one to ask my question........how reliable is it? I know some cars (coughFORDcough) are usually not worth getting cause they're complete junk & cost you more money in repairs than what it was bought for but I'm just wondering if a Celica is worth it or not? I really like the look of it!

I called Ford junk cause I've had one & it really did cost me more in repairs (mostly the starter & brakes, calpers, rotors, etc!) than what I bought it for. Plus I've known quite a few other people who had Fords & hated them too.

My uncles like to say that this is what ford stands for:
Found On Road Dead
Fix Or Repair Daily
F***ing Old Run-down Dodge

HAS THE CELICA BEEN DISCONTINUED?!?! It doesn't show up in the list when I'm searching for new Toyotas on Yahoo or MSN Autos. The newest I can find is 2005 :-(

Yes, the Celica has been discontinued. Sorry, :o(.

My parents have had Toyotas for the last 10 years or so, leasing so that they get a new car at the end of the lease. They've both gone from Camrys to the Solaras. I recently had to get a new car as well, and opted for the Toyota Corolla... used to be they were kinda crappy - light, tin-cannish - now, they're awesome! I have the "S" so it's really sporty (spoiler, runners, fully loaded interior, paid about $18,000 for it).

Toyotas are extremely reliable. If you want something sportier, try looking at a Scion TC - made by Toyota too. It's a 2-door coupe and so cool inside too! I almost got one of them, but opted for the Corolla any way.

Good luck!

In my opinion, Toyota and Honda currently make the highest quality cars on the road. That may not be universally true across the board, but stay away from Ford, GM, Daimler, VW until they can make cars that will not break too soon.

The Toyota Celica is very similiar in looks and more expensive than the Nissan Maxima - I have a Maxima and it is very dependable - I am on my second one and want a third - the one I have is a 1998 and is still running great!@

as i quote you" CELICA BEEN DISCONTINUED" yes it has. Why? poor sales.

I assume parts will be costly for one of these bad boys too.
