I'm not sure what you're asking.
I do think most of us would rather remain anonymous on this site. I do wish more people would find pics other than the avatars to show us. Those cartoon characters are kind of silly. I guess I shouldn't talk; I use a cartoon of Bugs Bunny as Groucho Marx but at least it's original and mirrors my personality to some degree.
If you are frustrated because people are misrepresenting themselves with pics of others more beautiful than themselves, well, this isn't really a dating site, is it?
I have found some who use their own pictures who are quite attractive.
My biggest beef with this site is most people refuse to use the spell check. I usually ignore messages I have to decipher like a code.

I would imagine most of what is posted here of a personal nature is fake. At least I treat it as such. If you don't want to post a picture it's simply your business. I don't care one way or another. I don't pay any attention to that kind of stuff anyway. I just try to answer questions I find interesting and see what happens.

I've always wondered about the validity of the pix on here; I mean, after all, who's gonna call them on it? We don't know that they look like that, but then again, we don't know that they DO look like that!! The anonymity is a rush for some; you can become whatever you wish. My avatar looks like me, but add more weight cos I'm not skinny anymore. I didn't care for the full-figured avatar cos I couldn't dress it the way I wanted to so I went with the skinny model - is that wrong? Who would know? lol I can be tall & skinny on-line . . . why not?

You do take a risk when posting a private photo of having it used again and again on others' identities. I remain skeptical of any posted photo, and like the first answerer, don't place any value in it anyway. This site is about words and ideas, not images. There are other sites where photos and images are the primary focus.

I dont' take anything at face value on the internet.
Internet is very much treated like a fantasy land.

I read the blogs, interests and gauge the sincerity of their writing. If I like them, I don't care what they look like. Remember, looks are only skin deep. And I should get an award for bringing up that old cliche.

Well considering George Bush's face keeps popping up every other day I'm pretty sure you're right.
