Why should you be nice to people who hate you? Unless of course you work with them and it is unavoidable. The job description generally doesn't require you to respond to any unrelated work chit-chat. If they hate you then that's THEIR problem not yours. Live your life. Be successful and don't tell them anything about your personal life. It isn't any of their business and they aren't entitled to know. Find other friends and always smile.

its not easy but the saying goes kill them with kindness,,they proboly dont even know why they hate you ,,let it roll off your shoulder and be nice as pie it really goes up their *** because they cant understand for the life of them why is this person being so nice when im so mean to them ..makes them wonder ..is he or she really that bad .it puts a question in their mind that maybe their wrong for how they treat you .they know it deep down that their not being very nice and here you are tolerating it ,,,good for your be strong besides .people have to like themselves before they can like anyone else and obviously the dont think much of themselves

Not easy at all!! I have a step mom that hates my guts, even bad mouths me to my daughter!! I want so bad to do the same but I have to be the bigger person. If I talked about her to my kid then I would be doing the same thing that she is. I have to pray about it all the time. I just keep telling myself that I am better than that, I will not stoop to her level! I pray for God to bless this woman, at first I didn't mean it, but after you do it for awhile, you actually start to mean it. The anger I feel Sort of disapears and I am able to look at her as a sick person who needs help! It sounds weird but it works for me.

When I worked at a vets office, people would sometimes be hateful to me on the phone because they wanted to get in 'right now' when it was not an emergency & we were booked. They would force their way in, then complain they had to wait (the scheduled appointments went first). Then when they got in the room with the vet, they were all sweetness & light (to the vet - of course) - till they came back to me to pay the bill & snit about the cost. Drove me crazy! Till one other girl there told me 'Kill'em with kindness - it'll drive them nuts!" So, I have always turned Ms. Saccharine with peple like that since - it makes them wonder & feels good to confuse them. Better than letting them ruin my day!

Not easy at all but necessary sometimes. I don't mean to go out of your way to be nice but answer them in polite respectful manner but directly to the point no extra comments.
Especially if its in-laws then respect your spouse by respecting his family. Its not easy and i know this from experience. But eventually you come to deal with it and ignore them.

It's not easy, eventually you wont become nice and beat the crap out of them. Its just human nature. You cant be like Ned Flanders and like those that hate you. Cheers.

Its really easy. Just b/c they hate u sometimes makes it fun to try and talk to them. lol Just treat them how u treat everyone even if they hate u. It may make them irritated but, hey that's sometimes alot of fun.

depends on the motivation of the niceness... is it sincere or to annoy them! In all seriousness though... i think that you should be civil... defend yourself when needed and try to avoid situations to be with people who hate you. Also maybe try to see why it is they hate you... is it something you can resolve with your actions.
