It seems to me that most people are aware of what insurance is and that they know it is something good.
Reason why people procrastinate is because they tend not to bother with things that have not happened yet. They react rather than act. When you see this kinda people, ask them "If you know you are going to die tomorrow, will you buy insurance today?"
However, we cannot predict when we will die so it may be too late by then. One thing we do know for sure is that we WILL all die one day, whether that one day comes sooner or later, it is good to start planning RIGHT now because 'nobody plans to fail, but they fail to plan'.

Because the main stream financial press & do it yourself publications don't put any importance in Life Insurance.

The main reason is that they are supported by Wall Street, Mutual Fund, Hedge Fund, banking and discount & online broker advertisers for about 85% of their ad Revenue.

Any Dollars that go into Life Insurance and Annuities are Dollars that get taken away from these Firms. That means they make Less Money over the long-term because they don't hold or control the money. Insurance Companies are their main competitors and hold all the dollars for these products. You need to understand this key dynamic because this is what is happening.

In Fact the majority of "Financial Advisors" don't put any importance in life insurance.

You know why? Because the majority of Financial Advisors especially from the large firms are Not Licensed to offer Insurance Products. If they can't make money on it or enough continuing money on it, so they trash it or don't put any importance in it and never proactively recommend it to clients. Also, they don't want to deal with it because these products are more time consuming to process.

Another reason is that these very valuable insurance products are NOT exciting to clients. They however, need these products much more than any financial product offered. Because these Insurance products will take care of their Loved ones in time of crises.

My husband believed that if he signed the life insurance application that he would die. I made him sign it anyways. He is glad that he did because he was in his early 20's and now the premium seems dirt cheap. Also, there are a lot of people out there with the mentality that they won't be here after they die so why should they buy it. These are the type of people that are extremely selfish and stupid. They need to be thinking about their family, parents, sisters, brothers, etc. Someone is going to have to pay for the funeral and final expenses. Why would you want to dump that on your family??

"Today I'll be procrastinatory....
Why do today what you can do tommorow?"
That's Jamie Cullum:)
I'm a permanent procrastinator, maybe it's just that... you want to seize the day, you don't think about future and of course almost nobody wants to think about his/her death or other tragedies... It's hard to be calm in such cases. Maybe that's why we avoid the topics...

Sounds like you're a life insurance seller. Well, some people look at it this way. Why pay for something that may never happen.
