I would wait about a week to re-color it. You really should go to a salon where they can help you to lighten it. It's better to have someone that knows what they are doing. If you are short on cash look up the school of beauty in your area and the student's there will do it for much less. Most of the time they will only charge you for supplies. I have had my hair done there before and they did a great job.

If its really dark and you want to lighten it while you wait you can try using shampoo like pantene or prell. The hairdressers always tell you not to use those because it will wash the color away. You might like it after it lightens a bit. Don't jump the gun and go dye it again just yet. It will definitely lighten up anyways. All hair color does.

You are headed for big trouble!!! Your best bet is to get into a salon and have it professionally fixed. If you do it yourself you are gonna totally ruin your hair.

You can not color over color, especially when the hair is dark. You will end up w/ orange or green hair or who knows!!!!

If you don't want to spend a bunch of money on corrective coloring try going to a beauty school. You can get a good professional correcting for lots less going this route. Yes, it will be a student doing it, but w/ a trained instructor guiding her along.

ok i advise to positioned highlights in it and then it is going to offer it a lighter sense and gorgeous assessment. yet no longer salon highlights which will be to good. Get like Garnier Frutis highlights from walgreens or everywhere. positioned that on your hair with this is going to sound loopy yet with lemon juice. Squeeze about 4 lemons in to a cup and positioned for the period of your hair. i do not ignore that sounds undesirable even if the juice lighten your hair. Now enable sit down on your hair ( it really is once you wash out the dye and stuff) for roughly 1/2-hour. also you opt to undergo in recommendations that once you do dye your hair merely wait per week or so and it is going to fade somewhat. So instead of the highlights you could also wait yet even if id pass for the highlights because you get a clean and contrasted gorgeous seem. nicely strong success and desire this enables. i understand because i'm a hair stylist.

I don't know a good way to lighten it, but don't re-color it today or for about a week if you can wait, give it two weeks. Your going to destroy your hair if you color it too much.

Coloring is damaging to your hair. Lots of stress on it. Don't lighten or color it for a few weeks.

For something immediate, choose one of the lightener shampoo's that they have now for different colors of hair.

Quick Fix ...Go buy a bottle of head and shoulders shampoo wash your hair a couple of times that should wash some of the color out of your hair....I found that out the hard way when I did that to my own hair on accident....My friend who is a beautician says because it is so strong it strips color/perm right out of your hair....

yes, you can re-do it today. It will dry it out some so be sure to use a good condtioner.
Any time you do anything to your hair it will dry it out.
Depending on what you put on it earlier, you may still not get the color you want.

Coffee's answer is perfect. Do exactly what she says and don't re-dye for at least a month. Lightening is so damaging!!

Please don't redye it today! You would just break and destroy your hair! You must at least wait for 2-3 weeks. The only thing you can do, is wash your hair more then you're used to. You can also use lemon use on your hair and then you must sit in the sun for a few hours. That bleaches hair just slightly.
