You need to replace the bulb. IT comes out from inside the trunk. They don't cost much.

You should inspect the socket more carefully, the ends inside can corrode. Try scrapping them clean, on both the bulb and socket. It would not hurt to test the bulb again to see if it is still good. You can also turn the signal on and with a tester see if you are getting current back there, if you use a light tester it will blink on and off. Just hook one end to ground and the other touch the terminal. You can get one pretty cheap at an auto store, in fact they may even come out and show you how to use it or test it for you.

When replacing a bulb do not touch with your hands, use a rag or something. The oils from your skin will cause it to break as soon as gets hot. Don't know if this applies to your situation now, but it could be useful in the future. I learned this after ruining a few bulbs (for my car).
Good luck, car stuff is a challenge for single women with a tight budget- but you will learn alot along the way!

If the rear bulb keeps burning out, you have a short in the system. Don't change the unit. The short can be traced by an automotive electrical repair shop. Check your yellow pages.

well, usually a fast-blinking light means it needs changed, however, you said you did that and it was fine but broke again....
sounds like you may have a short in that light.
take it to a mechanic and have them check the fuse for that light.
we have light fixtures in our house that will insist on blowing the bulb after only a month or so....it's the electrical connection, not the bulb itself.
this sounds like a similar thing...
good luck!

just happened in my blazer too.
replace the rear turn signal bulb.
you may wish to try replacing the bulb unit. sounds like either the bulb is gone again or there is a short.

Replace the bulb.....but listen I had the same prob and water was getting in the tail light and it kept blowing the bulbs. Had to drill 2 holes for the water to escape---fixed the prob. But, you might want to just get a NEW tail light altogether. Not that expensive.
Have a garage check it for you.

If there is only one wire for the entire unit then yes you need a whole new unit. Otherwise you have a short somewhere if it keeps blowing bulbs.

The left taillight is out, so that bulb has to be replaced. The replacement bulb is very cheap. As for replacing it from inside the trunk, you need to consult your owner's manual on how to do it.

Check the rear bulb and it's ground. Is the trunk seal in good repair? Any leakage and your bulb socket connectors will rust! :-)=
