It is certainly possible to live a school-free life after high school but the big question is: Where will you get the money to live? Chances are that you've been living at home and really don't see just how much it costs to pay for your own housing, food, utilities and transportation. Trust me, these things are shockingly expensive once you have to pay for them yourself. (Car insurance is a killer!)
If you really don't want to go to college, I suggest going into the military to get some life and vocational experience. That's what I did and I'd do it again in a flash. I got out of the Army smarter, more focused and had a better idea what the world was like. I then ended up taking some college and now have a two-year degree and a great job. Nobody can take away from me that I served my country honorably, something most of my peers avoided.
Good luck... I hope you make the right choice!

Kiddo..it is all a bunch of hewy that you have to go to college to earn good money! My youngest daughter is a self-motivator. She took a job with a medical firm and has within her first year raised her status several spots and earns 12.00 an hour already. She has weekends off to spend with her young family. I am very proud of her!
I think people who say college is the only way to go are really looking for you to be indebt for 10 years after you graduate! If you want to be a professional in teaching or medicine..then, yes..you have to get your degrees. But our country actually runs on entrepreneurship!
Live life on your terms for awhile. Save some money while you work and think this thing over. Go to college only when you want to and know what you want to study. Vote and be a strong citizen. Do these things and you are way ahead of any college grad for years to come!

if you don't want to go to college don't.but, without it, you won't be able to get a decent job, and i doubt you want to work as a waitress or stuff like that.i understand school isn't the most entertaining of activities, but a few years of discomfort will certainly be very rewarded by a good job, that you will enjoy.besides, think of your friends.they'll all go to college.you won't.you will lose topics in your conversations, they'll look down on you...nevertheless, you're not supposed to be doing it for them.the idea is to do it for yourself.and the "i'll do it a few years later" thing does not work.a few years later you'll be struggling to keep a job, and maybe even a kid.so i suggest you do it while your parents can support you.i wish you well :)

Hey, everybody is entitled to their personal choice right?but what if that choice will have negative long lasting consequences. My advice is to grab all the education you can get while youth is still on your side.It just aches me to see people in their 40's and upwards having to step back into class rooms to get diplomas and degrees that could have been gotten years before.Without tertiary education some individuals are realizing that their dream jobs calls for exactly what they were running from, don't make that mistake.Remember that some people can't mention the word college because for some reason or the other they can't afford to go.Don't blow yours!!!

Go ahead and get it over with. Then you never have to worry about it again.
A few years of college now will go by easier, you're already in school mode. It becomes intimidating once you've been out for awhile.
And unless you totally luck out and find a decent job, you will regret not going. Being financially secure and independent is worth it.

Well, just be prepared to start at the bottom and let your work be your school. I am assuming you are 18 or so. Don't need to make a decision right now. I have plenty of friends who didn't start college until 25 and they are no worse off.
Take time to figure it out. You could just be burnt out.

hey i think it is your life and no one else can make a better decision. so go ahead with your choice but think about the future.
i don't know about you so your decision should depend on your family background. if your family is stable ,go your way but if not then you need to get serious about your career.
there must be some reason behind your thought of leading a college free life.
think about the problems and try to sort them out.
don't panic and be cool !!

Go for it, but do so with your eyes wide open. You have every right to make that choice. The outcome will most likely be living on a low income for life, but that's cool for some folks.

Well, you can always get married to someone that has money I suppose. Of course, most women that I see doing that go to college to find their husbands. I enjoyed college, but I do understand if you don't want to go. Its not for everyone.
