''Clean technologies'' are a way of reducing the amount of pollution released into the atmosphere causing further damage to the environment. An example being to switch from the burning fossil fuels to produce energy, which releases high levels of CO2 into the atmosphere( This is known is the most significant greenhouse gas, causing the greenhouse effect.) and using other methods such as HEP (hydro electric power), wind/solar energy to produce electricity. However, these also have disadvantages...u can do some research yourself i'm sure.
As someone else said...CFC's destroying the ozone layer no longer used in aerosols and air conditioning etc to reduce the damage to the ozone layer.(Depletion of ozone or holes in the ozone layer lead to increased cases of skin cancer as there is no ozone to filter out harmful UV rays and reduction in crop yields)
