I have medium brown hair and would like blonde highlights. I have been to the hairdressers and said that they could only use bleach. Does anyone know of any non-bleach products or home kits that I could use that gives good results? Thanks.

Don't use at home products. Those dyes are made from coppers and metalics that stick in your hair. If you mess up, you're going to pay a lot of money to get that **** out of your hair. To actually dye your hair (but in your case, highlights) from brunette to blonde, you will have to use bleach or a hair dye that contains bleach. What I'm wondering is why you wouldn't want to use it. It won't hurt you and it will come out so much better if you let the hairdressers go ahead and do it. Trust them, they really know what they're doing.

Blonde highlights is BLEACH, anything else is just low lights or something, I have my hair highlighted blonde, but I only have it done twice a year at the most, so's not to take the goodness out of my hair. You can imagine I walk round with roots part of the year. lol

Try one of those kits that is on the telly with the highlighting wand. They look good.

Hope you find something suitable.
