If your "belief" came from your own human mind . So why you despise the bible because it also came from a human mind.

"If your "belief" came from your own human mind . So why you despise the bible because it also came from a human mind"

Here's the thing about that - supposedly the bible is the word of god. Right? No one, not even the most insane, are suggesting that god penned it himself. They believe it was ghostwritten by men for god.

I don't believe that's true. Sure, it was written by man. But not by men who had a direct pipeline to god. It all came from nasty little agendas of their own (I think many of them had issues with keeping their wives in line!)

Ok, I've been broken down. I'm going to confess. Sorry, fellow atheists, but the time has come to finally admit to the world that we ARE a religion!

We all go to a church which is strictly controlled by our own bible. It's just called "The Atheist Bible." It's much shorter than the christian one, but man, they really pack a lot of rules into it.

In order to be an atheist, we must conform to this book and follow it to the letter. Most importantly, we've taken a vow of silence. We are not to admit that this book exists, that we are a religion, and that, yes, we ARE planning to take over the world. YA is just another forum we've been using to preach our black gospel.

If you don't see me out here in future, you'll know why. I'm breaking all kinds of laws by posting this, and I think I already hear footsteps on the stairs.....

Atheists don't have any doctrines. There is nothing inherently in common among atheists, except a lack of belief in gods.

Many atheists, however, are Secular Humanists, which does have a doctrine. It is a morality based on what is good for humanity. You can find the Humanist Manifestos online. The manifestos are updated periodically as society changes. Unlike the various "holy" texts, it is not a stagnant, fixed document.

I'm an atheist and my doctrine is the doctrine of liberal humanist democratic secularism. I'm a remodernist who rejects political correctness and excessive moral and cultural relativism. I am a proud westerner and frankly I do look down on other cultures and make no apology for it. Western humanist values perhaps evolved out of the teachings of Christ but they do not require a belief in a deity.
I believe in mathematical Platonism where physical reality is just a special part of the world of mathematics and that our thoughts have no physical existance..they have a Platonic existence.
I don't feel the need to put a deity in charge of the Platonic realm.

Whether a person is a christain or not, it must be realised that our modern day western civilization is based on christian beliefs, values eg ten commandments, not kill, steal, etc. So in a big part even an atheists values/doctrines are based on christian vaules. Of course with time these values have evolved as society has evolved, although whether this be for good or bad it not the point. The point is that as society changes, so do our values, but our core beliefs do come from Christian values.

There is no doctrines, we have a mind of our own. We don't need a book of falsities to tell us what to do.

I wouldn't call any of our collective views of reality "doctrines". They are just the result of higher education and our own deductive reasoning. If you really thought about it, without being afraid of a smiteing, you would also see the contradictions and outright impossibilities in your bible are nothing but fairy tales.

Hmm, my "doctrine" is that all life and our solar system and everything in it came from natural processes that we understand fairly well but not completely.
That humans have no more "purpose" on this earth than any other animal. That when we die, that's it, the switch is turned off.

That of all the 2,000 religions and gods in earth's history, xians reject 1,999 of them. I reject all 2,000. I lament their inabilty to commit to that last step.

Atheism is not a belief system, we simply do not share the theists belief in God or Gods...that is not to imply we believe there is no God...just that there is no good reason to believe in God.
There is no doctrine of atheism.
God believers are theist's and we who do not share their belief are called atheists...simple isn't it!

There is none. We have your doctrines which made most of us Atheists in the first place.

I am an unbeliever, and I have absolutely no "doctrine" "dogma". I don't/won't believe in any kind of religious & spiritual concept.

I can't speak on behalf of all unbelievers though.
