Ti's contentment and not trying to people please and impress so the pressure is off and we are more comfortable with who we are and don't get dragged along with trends..

I don't think understanding brings happiness, just acceptance. You seem happier because you can deal with things easier but the older you get, the more things there are to deal with and worry about. I much preferred being younger when you don't really care about the rest of the world and the possible problems you will have to contend with!

Maybe I will get happier as I get older though, one can only hope!!!!

Happy to be old when looking at what's left.
Unhappy when I see the future people are making for themselves.

Pride has gone out of the window followed by self respect and honesty is history.
I worry what will happen to my wife if go first and the prospect of becoming dependant is something I hope to avoid.
Thatcher followed by Blair, has given away everything we worked and fought for. They have sold off the U.K's family silver we bought for ours and others future.
Murdock decides who we have in Parliament to front up power makers, and we are left paying three times over the odds for everything.
Happy? Only by the thought they won't get into heaven.
Or will they?
Now there's a thought what hell could be like.

I am 65 tomorrow so will become officially an "old man ". Yes, you do get happier as you grow old. Your expectations are less and therefore you do not become disappointed. If I miss anything it's my youth. I simply love looking at pretty young women, are'nt they lovely?
I am so envious of the young and sometimes wish I could turn back the clock. But I can't so I find solace in the fact I am wiser and more knowledgeable. I don't rush in to decisions but consider them and ponder them before acting, and the result is usually the one |I wanted.
I also get great pleasure from watching my children and grandchildren grow and develop into the lovely human beings they have become.
I could go on and on but in short , my answer to your question is Yes !!

I have actually found that I get more depressed as I get older. I have more responsibilities and I have more things I need to worry about. Especially that I am getting older and have no prospects of getting married anytime soon and I want to have kids before I turn 30! I am 23. Hopefully this will change soon.

Yes i'm a lot happier as ive got older. I think you learn to accept that life has to carry on regardless of whats happening around you.
As they say you get older and wiser

I wouldn't say happier, perhaps wiser. When you consciously become aware that you are now on life's 'glide-path' towards the unknown you probably enjoy more of what's happening because it's all going to end soon.

I think so as well. I was desperately unhappy as a teenager and through my twenties. I only began to feel more happy when in my thirties.

I guess why they say 'experience is the spice of life'.

The older I get, the better my life becomes, simply because my values have more substance and I'm more tolerant of others

Not more happy, just more able to deal with what life throws at you. I was certainly happier as a child as I didn't have to rely on myself as much to survive.
