I had a friend who had to have gallstones removed and he said it was very painful...
The doctor said to stay off Coffee and Chocolate...
I think Cheese was also on the list...
These also contribute to Gout which is another disease that is painful to have...
My understanding is that these foods are all rich foods and all have some of the same attributes in them to acquire the same results...

I had gallstones about two years ago. At the time I was passing them and it was INCREDIBLY painful. When I was passing them I only ate bland, room temperature foods. Any fat will set off an attack, as well as salt and other spices, and even a cold drink! Do not drink coffee!! I ate lots of steamed veggies without butter, animal crackers, crackers, jello, and even some sherbert when I wasn't passing a stone. If you are having this problem, I'm sure you have gone to our doctor. If he/she decides that surgery is the best way to go - do it! I had the surgery done "laproscopically" (sp?). This way the doctor only has to cut 4 little holes in your abdomen, instead of a huge gash. Also, this cuts down on the recovery time drasctially. In responce to whichever answerer said that it was a painful surgery - it was not nearly as bad as passing a stone.

A bland diet is usually what is prescribed for gallstones. Sometimes, even that doesn't work though. It didn't for me. Eating anything set off an attack. I had to have my gallbladder removed. Best diet I've ever been on :)

i,m assuming your female,so i,ll share this with you.i,m 51yrs old, when i was 23yrs i had to get my gallbladder out,i had gallstones, yellow with the jaundice and lost 2st in six weeks, surgeon suspected it was caused by the pill.all over thinks i but when i reached 47yrs i took them again in my bile duct, back to hospital to have a camera inserted and the offending stones removed again.i had been on hrt for two years previously, came off hrt but couldnt stand the flushes and went back on it,guess what?, 2yrs later i was back in again for the same thing.i was kept in hospital for two weeks because my liver functions were haywire.doctors wouldnt agree that the pill or hrt had anything to do with it but when i went home i done some research on the net and found out that the pill does cause gallstones and so does hrt so ive decided to put up with the flushes.

You'll need to cut out all salt and reduce dairy products too. Alcohol is a no-no too, as are lots of 'fast' foods.. way too high in additives, salt and sugar. Minimise intake of pure fruit juices and asolutely no carbonated drinks. Cut out white breads and opt instead for brown, high fibre breads. Good Luck.

No fats and no dairy products, dried milk etc. My grandma had them and her life was a misery until she had her gall bladder out. Then she made up for lost time.

No fats, no chocolate, NO COFFEE, no carbonated beverages,
but you can eat veggies.
What you eat is not so important as what you DON'T eat.
