New Plaster Paint?

Question

I'm decorating my livingroom at present and ive had it plastered. I need to know if i have to use New Plaster Paint or can i use watered down emulsion (friend told me i could do this) if i can use watered down emulsion does any one now the ratio please?

its not watered down emulsion you use its water based emulsion the difference is on is mixed with chemicals that will form a skin and stop letting the plaster drying out the other is just waterbased and will allow the plater to dry out and wont crack hope this helps
