You will lose your health, that's what you'll lose. That kind of diet is ridiculous. Your body will go into starvation mode, and you won't lose weight. Your internal organs will begin to shut down. It probably wouldn't happen in 2 or 3 weeks, but it's still a foolish way to try to lose weight.

be sure you don't lose consciousness, because a diet like that may well lay you out. You will lose more muscle mass than fat, and your body will not be putting in any stores which will make you more likely to get ill with a virus or bacteria. You cannot lose much weight between now and Oct. 1st. You should not lose more than two pounds per week if you want to keep the weight off, if you don't want your skin to "bag" on you, and if you don't want to compromise your health. Aim for next Oct. 1st instead, and if you lose 2 pounds per week between now and then, you'll be too thin! You are not obese yet, just overweight. I am 46, 5'6" and between 120 and 125 lbs. When I was fifteen, I went from a normal weight to 160 lbs. in one year! it took me nearly 10 years to get a hold of the problem, which was entirely psychological. The first 7 minutes of physical activity are the hurdle you have to overcome. Discipline yourself; this is where pride is born.
Make a point of walking or riding a bike everywhere time allows and that is less than 5 miles. Spend more of your time outside the house than in. Cancel your cable subscription until you've learned how to discipline yourself. NO JUNK FOOD until you've learned how to eat and what. If you don't know the difference between what is and is not junk food, plan your diet around
10% fats; 30% protein; 60% carbohydrates
eat as many whole foods as you can
eat food prepared from scratch rather than out of a box or can
Your weight is not yeat out of control; you can be prime in no time
best of luck and in the end, remember; you are what you eat, but it's what's on the inside that counts. keep looking for reasons to smile and you may find you're less concerned with your weight and that in itself may be all you need to lose it.
god bless

Hi there, you will probably wind up GAINING weight. breakfast is the most important meal of the day because it "Breaks" the "Fast". There is a certain amount of calories your body needs to function during the day. If you eat less than this, you body thinks that it is starving and goes into conservation mode, holding onto excess fat and water to protect itself.
In addition to exercise, which can be as simple as a half hour walk 4-5 times a week, you need to eat sensibly. Inadequate food and water can actually deteriorate your body and lead to such things as weak and brittle nails, hair loss and even ulite/saggy skin.
An ideal daily menu would be protein for breakfast -
3 eggwhites and whole wheat toast or oatmeal; veggies and protein for lunch, then another type of veggies and protein for dinner. Snacks during the day can be fruit and whole wheat crackers and even 2-3 oz of cheese.
Dont forget water, the more you drink (ideal is 64 oz a day) the faster you flush fat out of your body as well as feel full longer.
I hope this helps. Fasting is not an ideal solution for weight loss. Dont trick your body like that because it is counter productive. You are just about at an ideal weight - 5'6" and 148 is not overweight at all.
Good Luck.

Dont know about how much you'll lose in weight , but you're clearly losing perspective!
No diet like that EVER works for the good of your body - you need vitamins and minerals that are completely absent from your suggestion in order to function well.
You need at least 5 portions a day of fresh fruit and vegetables to reduce your risk of getting cancer in life - if you add to this regular exercise, no smoking and checking yourself regularly you can reduce your risk by FIFTY percent , people!!!!
Do the above, change your lifestyle and not only will the weight fall off in a managable way, it will also keep you in a much better physical condition.
Only a fool would try your way! Dont do it!!!

You'll lose weight but you'll also lose muscle. Your body needs a certain amount of calories a day. For your body height to lose you weight you can restrict yourself to 1200 calories a day and still lose weight. A healthy 1-2 lbs. a week and that's without exercise. If you continue to do what you're doing you're body is going to start burning muscle to make up for the calories you're missing and you're going to end up with a higher percentage of body fat. More body fat you have the less muscle you have to burn calories and it becomes a vicious cyle. Do it the right way or you're going to end up gaining back more weight in the end and have a harder time losing it later.

I know how desperate you can feel to loose weight when you look down and see the fat on your body. There is a saying: the amount of time it takes for you to loose it is the same amount of time it takes for you to gain it back. It will benefit you better in the long run to take your time and loose the weight, all the while learning how to eat healthy and exercise. That way you will have a life of health and not a life of dieting. Take a look at this website. It is helping me. And it is free!!!

You need to take care of yourself and eat the right amount of minerals and nutrients to keep yourself healthy.
Eating one bowl of Cheerios in the morning is not enough. With a balanced diet and eating in moderation, with excercise, you will lose the weight you want. You are however pre-determined to a size based a genetics, you can't get around this.
Don't starve yourself because it's not natural and can get you really sick.

You would lose nothing. The body will hold onto every calorie you eat. Starving yourself is not the way to lose weight. This may sound dumb but eating more meals a day help you lose weight faster ( albeit they should be small meals) Trust me I know, I have lost 85 lbs doing this

It's better if you eat thrice a day i.e. have breakfast, lunch and dinner in correct proportions. skipping meals is not the answer to your weight problem. i think you don't need to lose weight. your weight seems ideal for your height. i think you wouldn't look good if you became too skinny. Skinny people tend to fall sick alot. it's better to be healthy rather than skinny. i learned a lesson too. Im 5' 6'' myself and i'm a little heavier than you. if you feel good about yourself there's no reason to become skinny. just love yourself for who you are and dont try to change that.

You run the risk of losing a lot of muscle tissue on a starvation diet like this. I cannot recommend it with a good conscience. The South Beach Diet is good for building health and helping you get rid of unwanted fat.
