your body is telling your mind to rest, even when your mind disagrees with your body, your spirit will have to work this issue out between your mind and body, and become as 1 living entity

You may have a condition called sleep apnea.
I was diagnosed with it about 2 years ago. The symptoms were being constantly sleepy during the day. I would sleep (I thought) 8 - 10 hours a night, get up and then fall asleep driving to work in the morning.
I ran numerous red lights, had a couple of fender benders and other near misses. I would fall asleep at my desk at work during the day.
After being diagnosed, I sleep with a mask on my face at night. When tested I found I would stop breathing while asleep which meant my body was being deprived of oxygen and was not getting the restorative rest it needed. The mask forces me to breathe so that I get a good night's sleep.
Now I can sleep 6 hours a night and feel completely rested and work through the next day without any drowsiness or falling asleep at work.
Get tested, if that is what is wrong, it is well worth it.
Good luck.

Your battery is getting drained of energy and that your body is trying to divert the remaining backup energy for other vital and involuntry activities. Mostly after you have a good meal the digestion process needs a lots of energy and hence you may feel sleepy.Or after you had a good f**k.

Mostly it is due to 'body rythm' but lack of interest in an activity, stress, lack of fresh air, heat, excessive comfort or tiredness, lack of activity or even full stomach could cause this.
