This is an old family recipe that I found and never share with family but I will delightfully give it to you....

Battter
1 cup butter or margaine, softened
1-1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1 cup sugar
2-1/2 cups creamy peanut butter, divided
1 egg
1-1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2-1/2 cups quacker oats
2 cups self-rising flour

Frosting:
6 tbsp butter or margarine, softened
4 cups confectioners' sugar
1/2 cup baking cocoa
1 tsp vanilla extract
6-8 tbsp milk

In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugars. Add 1 cup peanut butter, egg, and vanilla, mix well. combine oats and flour to creamed mixture ( it will be thick) and spread into a greased 15x10x1 in. baking sheet.
Bake @350 for 13-15 minutes or until golden brown.
cool on wire rack or about 10 minutes then spread remaining peanut butter that was divided on top. Then cool completely...sometimes I put it in the frig for about 15 minutes.

In another mixing bowl, combine all the frosting ingredients (not milk yet). Use just enough of the milk to achieve a spreading consistency (not runny) and spread over peanut butter layer.

Makes about 2-3 dozen depending the size of the cuts.

I make these every football sunday for about 15 family members and the get very sad if I don't ... so I hope your family will love them as much as mine.
