I think Grape Nuts is only the name of the cereal, not a combination of ingredients...
I think it is the term given to the process by which the nuts and grain are made...

The cereal is made from malted barley. To my knowledge there are neither nuts or grapes of any kind in it. I like it though and consider it a healthy way to start the day.

Raisin-nut bran is closer to what you are thinking of. They are basically raisins covered with crushed (almonds?). They taste really great! I kind of wish the company would package the raisin-nuts by themselves and sell them as a snack. It's funny that when it comes to marketing, the big cereal companies are pretty ridiculous. I always get a good laugh out of "Lucky Charms". Whenever that cereal isn't selling well, the immediate knee jerk reaction is to suddenly market a "new!" marshmallow. It's so dumb it's funny.

No, the name is because the whole wheat give it a slight nutty flavor and the pieces are so small they look like grape nuts
