An environment is a system that often supports life. Whether it is a desert or a rain forest, life forms will often find a way to survive there.

something that enters the environment that harms the circle of life in the environment can be described as pollution. When the ice melts in Antarctica, the fresh water that flows into the sea is a pollutant that harms the sea life and plankton that needs to live in salt water.

When people use the freshwater in an environment, and saltwater seeps into it, such as in Florida, then the salt water is a pollutant.

It all depends on what belongs and what is harmful to the ecosystem.

;-D give a hoot! Don't pollute!
