I understand that an atheist is a person which falls under either of the following categories;
a) one who does not believe in the existence of GOD
b) one who does not pray and does not follow religious rituals.
c) one who does not have faith/has difficulty in having/developing faith.
Please indicate in which category you belong with justification. IF you have any other category definition please explain.Put in simple words my question is "what is the definition of a true atheist"?

OK, here I go:

A) Yes, I believe in that we were created through evolution, but there are many things that contradict against that. I mean, if we came from some sort of ape, why have they stopped evolving now?

Well, my theory is that we came from an animal that is very similar to apes, but has some differences. Or it could be that we came from the water and we grown into humans through evolutionary stages.

As for God, I mean... think about it. We were just born and we all wondered... where did we come from. And since back then we wanted a quick answer and didn't understand science, we assumed that something powerful created us, therefore the creation of God.

B) Yes, I don't pray. But you know.... sometimes I envy the people who pray, because when they are sad, they have someone they can talk to, but for me... I have to tell myself I had to get over it because crying does nothing.

I mean, it sucks... thats one of the few things believing in God has.

C) I just planly don't have faith, because is belieiving in something you can't see. But if you can't see it, or has no scientific proof it is there, how can you believe it still exist?

Well, thats me.

Atheism, in its broadest sense, is a lack of belief in a deity or deities. The opposite of theism, this broad definition encompasses both people who assert that there are no gods and those who make no claim about whether gods exist or not. Narrower definitions of atheism typically include only those who assert the nonexistence of gods, excluding non-believing agnostics and other non-theists.

Although some atheists tend toward skepticism, and toward secular philosophies such as humanism, naturalism and materialism, there is no single system of philosophy which all atheists share, nor does atheism have institutionalized rituals or behaviors.

I am not atheist...I am strong believer of one God and only savior Jesus Christ

I am proud to be an atheist. I have no belief in the existence of god, don't feel the need to prey or follow religious rituals and don't have a faith. Simple as that

They all could apply. I do not believe in the existence of God. I do not pray and do not follow religious rituals, and I find it difficult to believe in something as profoundly as God without having any proof or evidence.

People will call me closed minded for not believing in God. I also do not believe that knocking on wood will release spirits so I will not have bad luck. I do not follow superstitious beliefs. I agree with what can be demonstrated in human terms such as many formulas in physics. Physics shows how things work in human terms.

I do not share the theists belief in God...I don't hold a belief that there is no God but I don't see any reason to believe there is a God.
I don't subscribe to any belief system requiring faith or trust without evidence.
Faith is not a thing I would want to develop it is against reason and it is unreasoning thus it is abhorrent to me.

They're all wrong. I'm an atheist, and I don't/won't fit into your mold.

Here is the dictionary definition: a‧the‧ist –noun: a person who denies or disbelieves the existence of a supreme being or beings.

I am an unbeliever. I don't like "atheist"-label, because it still intrinsically refers to "theism".

Definition of an unbeliever = someone who doesn't & won't trust any kind of religious/spiritual belief.

Simple.

---

a): ok, but you should write "deities" instead of "god". The deity that Christians worship is not the only worshipped deity on Earth.

Unbelievers don't believe in ANY kind of deity (including "god").

-

b) indeed. Alright.

-

c) wrong. In your view, "faith" can only be religious.

I do have "faith": I have faith in Life & Humanness.

---

In my view, those who claim to be atheists and who keep talking against only one deity ("God") are narrow-minded.

That's why I prefer the "unbeliever"-label. Much more broad-minded, in my view.

I am not an atheist. There is not enough information available to take up a religious position, either theistic or atheistic.
