I was about the same age when i started going grey. I am in my mid forties and still fighting those white roots. How come on a man grey hair looks quite distingquished on a women its just looks like your getting old. There is very little you can do - you either "come out" with your grey or keep on spending on hair colours. I am gonna fight it to the end. Unfortunately my beautiful 14 year old daughter has obviously inherited the same gene - i caught her the other day picking out grey hairs and i thought oh no here we go again, except it will cost me double.

Hi, Well I'm 32 and haven't' seen Grey yet..And I'm not sure what I will do about it yet ..I have put allot of thought in it though..One day I think I will dye it but then I see a lady with beautiful vibrant Grey and I think how pretty it is..I think it's just one of thoughs things that you have to decide with your own heart..Now if I started getting Grey at 12 I can see how it would be bothersome cause not many children have Grey hair at that age and I'm sure it caused Teasing..Maybe if you talked to a hair care specialist about all your options.Cause I know their is hair color rinses out their that you use once a week that helps keep the Grey colored without heavy chemicals..You can purchase them at Wal-Mart also..But I would talk to a professional about what the right color would be to get for your hair for the best coverage..And if you decide to go Grey be proud and hold your head up high..And be the beauty that you know you are...We may not all be beautiful on the out side But we can sure let our loveliness glow from the inside..Good Luck and God Bless

I started going grey aged 30 after my daughter was born (coincidence? I think not) Anyhow, I dye it intense violet with blonde highlights which help disguise the grey as the highlights grow out. As my hair is naturally dk brown the grey really shows up. Don't worry about dying your hair. As long as you feel comfortable and that you look your best then the greys don't matter.

I'm not sure that grey hair's not flattering. I've seen women my age (54) who've let their hair go grey and who look great. So I'm trying to do the same. Though its scary! Dyeing hair all the time is such a pain. I think its important to keep a young style.

Oh my gosh! I am 27 and have just started to notice gray. But I have been coloring my hair since middle school too. My hair is that ugly dirty blonde. So it might as well be gray, I'd still be coloring it. I think you should do whatever makes you feel good about yourself. If you think you look good gray and I do think their are some women that do, then you should do it. I don't know what your hair color besides the grey is, but maybe just get some blonde highlights added or red and add some dimension to your hair. Just a thought. Good Luck!

I think this question depends on the colour of someones hair. You mostly find that white people with very dark almost black hair goes grey in their teens, where as a Red headed person will go a strawberry blonde rather than a grey colour.
I have red hair and have it highlighted all the time, I'm waiting for the day I go strawberry blonde, then I wont have to pay for it. lol

I started going grey when I was 21. It's not a lot but it's slowing going more and more so (I'm 27 now). It's mainly at the front and I am conscious of it, so I dye my hair. I spose one day I should stop but until then I like having rainbow hair.
Don't worry too much - you could be bald...
