Probably, but that would reinforce his point. The Pope has no reason to apologize, he quoted a 14th century emperor and it was taken out of context. I know of no other religion in recent history that has been as militant, radical, and terroristic as the Islamic radicals. Almost all terrorist acts have been in the name of Islam, all beheadings, suicide bombing, and torture has been in the name of Islam. The rest of the world should demand an apology from the Islamic clerics, and a pledge for them to stop the senseless violence done by these so called true believers.

The following was provided by another member in response to a similar question, it seems to reinforce the propensity toward violence.

Ishaq:544 “Muhammad commanded the people to prepare for the foray [raid, incursion, sortie, attack, or assault]. The Messenger informed his troops that he was going to Mecca. He ordered them to prepare themselves and ready their equipment quickly. He said, ‘O Allah, keep spies and news from the Quraysh until we take them by surprise in their land.'” Fundamental Islamic organizations like Hamas, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad, and al-Qaeda offer the same prayer today.

Ishaq:544 “Hassan incited the men, reciting: ‘This is the time for war. Don't feel safe from us. Our swords will open the door to death.'” And so it would be forevermore.

Qur'an 9.5 “When the sacred forbidden months for fighting are past, fight and kill the disbelievers wherever you find them, take them captive, beleaguer them, and lie in wait and ambush them using every stratagem of war.”

I am certain it will. But, it again shows us some things about Islam.

Don’t you see the irony in Muslims being able to desecrate a Christian Temple in Jerusalem by spreading feces on images of Christ? But a Christian leader (the Pope) can’t remind people of what 14th century Byzantine emperor Manuel Paleolous II said about the profit Mohammad several hundred years ago. It wasn’t even the Popes own words or thought. He was repeating what Paleolous II supposedly said. . What’s with the hypersensitivity anyway?

The Muslims can dance in the streets; shout and yell; raise their fists all they want to but I do not believe the Pope owes Muslims an apology for anything.

Some have contended the terrorists are a form of radical Islam and a small minority of the faith. They say the large majority of Muslims are a peaceful people. I am beginning to wonder about these claims when I see the reported millions in the streets protesting what the Pope repeated.

Two faced or what? Is Islam a peaceful religion or a violence based religion? By what I am seeing and hearing, I would have to conclude the latter.

The Pope's remarks are not unlike what all arrogant Christians think in their hearts. And it's good for him to be the official symbol of this point of view. Gosh, even Fundies have to bless him! While the Muslims are putting on a show (a violent demonstration), they are secretly smiling to themselves and having a good time - rather like a carnival atmosphere.

This is again part of the Western propaganda against Islam because they feel the heat of the fantastic peaceful spread of Islam in the west that some Western scholars expected Europe to be Islamic in less than 100 years. This propaganda is not going to work because it just indicates the degree of the Pope ignorance about Islam. Didn't the Pope know that Islam introduced the highest ethics to the world that even the leader country in the world today America has to learn its ABC's. See the link below:

a clear proof, how church spreads misinformation and misconceptions abt Islam. church keeps on telling more and more lies to keep the ppl away from the truth. does anyone needs any more proof?

i invite everyone to Islam. Research on ur own abt Islam. Read The Holy Quran, Read Books of Hadiths (Prophet's Sayings), Research by Authentic Reliable Books & Sites (Don't count on sites that defame Islam, 'coz they spread mis-information and misconceptions abt Islam, and they cant even back up there claims with sufficient proofs, thus they are basically rambling Falsehood abt Islam). Do all this research on ur own and dont believe in anyone's hearsay (Not even mine). May GOD (ALLAH) guide u on The Path of Seeking The Truth. Peace to All.

i don't think of the Pope had any appropriate to return out and publicly say those issues approximately Islam. i think of he has the ultimate to his very own ideals yet I additionally think of that what he reported became not at all efficient to all people. If he became seeking to easily stir the pot, then challenge achieved. I agree that rioting over cartoons or books or words isn't a solid thank you to get useful interest for a faith of peace. i don't in any way think of that one and all Muslims theory rioting became a solid thought so i don't paint all of them with the comparable brush. i think of there's a majority of very solid Muslims who're attempting to assist circulate areas of their faith into the destiny concerning retaining your cool between haters and that they pick the help and expertise of those persons who are not Muslim, yet are tolerant of peoples appropriate to have faith what they pick. bear in ideas while a undeniable faith burned all heretics? They have been given a grip and moved forward and that i think of the Muslims that get too warm tempered will additionally ought to circulate forward and worship in peace. do not blame prepared on some nevertheless. Please. TO THE ANSWERER JADED: "p.s. you're sick and twisted to evaluate Isam to Michael Jackson. You offend me. there became a time while being Catholic made one a aim for ridicule and hate. Oh boy, here we go again. Religious war forthcoming? Armageddon? Irreversible?

Most of us here probably have children already. Don't want them to see the ugly face of religious war.

Calm down????

How can I calm down, the Pope just threw in the first salvo.

Religious people are emotilonally tied to their religious beliefs. Therefore their emotions run high when someone says something against them. This is the same for most religions.

If religions were based on reality and had facts to back them up, people wouldn't be so upset at it being challenged.
