We do have a tail, or what is left of one - it is called the coccyx.

The term coccyx comes originally from the Greek language and means, shaped like a cuckoo's beak.

The coccyx is regarded as vestigial in humans, meaning it no longer serves the major functions that it did in earlier species. (Those included supporting a tail and accommodating its nerves.) It does provide an attachment for muscles, such as the gluteus maximus (bum to you and me), and also serves as something of a shock absorber when the person sits down.

We have, the coccyx or the tail bone.

"The coccyx is all that is left of the tailbone of animals we evolved (changed into over time) from in the past."

We aren't designed to have one. Our "tail" is in the coccyx and it has a specific purpose as it sits there.
