Do you know where it is? Or know the thief? If so, i would get some backup togrther and go beat the crap out of the person and forcibly take back my dog. Or you could just have the police go over to wherever the dog is w/you to get it. Otherwise, there are some websites for helping people find lost/stolen pets. Try a search engine to find one in your area.

Inform all professionals i.e., Police, Rspca, Local Vet, Regional Press.
Put photographs near where the dog was stolen, may jog someone`s
memory.
I have heard there is a scam, where you may receive a phone call, exclaiming
that they have your dog, that they bought him/her in a pub, and the dog cost
them, i.e.,£100.+ In the hope that you will arrange a meet to buy your dog
back. If you receive any calls to this nature call the authorities immediately.
In the meantime, stay strong and I hope that your dog will be returned to you
soon.
Thoughts are with you,
Lain.

Is this dog microchipped? File a police report if it was stolen, contact all the humane society's in your area. Place an ad in local papers about it, include a picuture of your dog. If this dog is microchipped, give the chip number to the police and all the humane society's you contact.

Try the RSPCA or local dog pound. If you have a photo of the mutt, place his picture on lots of telephone poles. Good luck. I lost mine many years ago, I know how you must feel.

It all depends whether you know who took your pet. If you do, call and report him stolen. Also, report the loss to the SPCA and any Animal Shelters to alert them. They will take your info and call if they pick him up.
