Well you got to wonder why 'atheists' spend so much time hanging around a site about religion. Maybe they have secret yearnings to become religious themselves.

The Chronicler: Who said anything about fighting. Come on - admit you are a closet.

They want to see what it's like being in touch with reality, if only for a brief time.

Hhhmm I don't know. But I wonder why so many Closet Pagans are running around claiming to be Christians. Maybe they're in a great conspiracy together?

it's the first i've heard of it.

i remember running a chat and group over at msn a few years ago. there were a few people who did that sort of thing. it mainly happened when those with strong personalities wanted to play. playing both sides was like entertainment to them. some days they were agnostic, other days christian, and other days into the occult. so, whatever suited them for that day is what they played out... Can you say, "Too much freetime"?

Why are so many Christians so afraid to admit that there are atheists?

Face it, kid, I am who I say I am. I've got more education than you and any two of your friends put together, I write well, I'm healthy and happy and active and social. I know how to play several musical instruments, I love animals and playing baseball, children love me because I know how to play, je parle francais y tambien espanol e po italiano, I'm well versed in philosophy and religion, and epistemology...and I don't believe in god.

My disbelief is not because I don't know something that you do know. I know more about your religion than you do, and so do most atheists. You don't want to accept that someone who understands this stuff could not agree with you. That's just plain ignorant arrogance, which is the driving force behind almost all of the believers' attacks on atheists here. You're on the wrong side here, both morally and factually.

And finally, when believers insist that it's foolish not to believe, they reveal a complete lack of faith. The truly faithful believer knows that there is no evidence for his or her belief, and believes anyway. There are some of those decent Christians here - you'd do well to follow their lead. They represent Christianity far better than do those who constantly reveal their weakness by parroting obviously false statements like "it is a fool who says in his heart there is no god".

Later -

Noticed that you skipped right past addressing the truth here. Sorry that you're so insecure in your beliefs that atheists scare you so much. Maybe you should find one of those Christians who really DOES have faith, and ask them to help you past this problem you've got.

Why are you looking for a fight?

There's nothing wrong with being an Atheist.
There is nothing wrong with being a Christian.

There is certainly something wrong with trying to provoke a fight with one, the other, or anyone else.

So...

Why do you try to provoke something with such an accusing assumption?
Are you really so bored with your own life?

The Chronicler

Neither athiest nor Christian.
Try again.

This room is actually religion & spirituality so atheists have as much right to be here as you.

I find it funny so many christians come here screaming and preaching about their faith proving that they have no faith or belief in christianity..they should come out of closet as atheists

there is no reason for any of them to be in the closet about God. The bible clearly states that if you deny him before man, he will deny YOU before his father. I don't deny that I am a christian and PROUD OF IT! God bless you!
