I am who i am and whether i am loved or hated for it is fine by me....you cant please everybody all of the time.
im comfortable in my own skin and if im hated for that then those who feel that way arent worth knowing.
I would hate to be loved for something im not...you can only pretend to be something else for a short period of time

Really? All these people really believe the former is better? I agree, but I don't see it in action that much. We *all* tell a million little lies, present masks, in order to be more approved of--in short, to be loved. It takes an enourmous amount of guts to step out of line, even in little ways, let alone the big ones (barring psychopathology).I don't see too many people standing up, in the face of potentially great social reprobation, and being completely and utterly honest.Or even, for that matter, questioning what that honesty might entail. I know I still shake in my boots over relatively small "stands" for who I am, and sometimes the vitriol amazes me--an I'm talking small (ish) stuff.I wonder what would happen if all who claimed this, lived it to the full?

Disliked would be a better word than hated, but yes - I wouldn't want to be loved for who I am not.

aT least your being true to your self and if ever you get hurt in the end, just think that it is better than having someone else, especially the one you love, be the one to get hurt.

I believe in being me. SO I guess both. I stand for who and what I am, and I really don't care what other people think. I like honesty. And I believe honesty is the best policy.

everyone else believes in your statement, so i'll go against the grain. eg. a paedophile if he is who he is the people hate him, but if he or her tries to be something they are not (i.e not a paedo) then surely its better they be loved for this in this situation?

Absolutely!!! You have to be true to yourself first - if other people do not like for who you are that is their problem!!! If they love you for who you are not, they do no truly know you and so cannot love you!
