Contrary to the beliefs of some denominations, water baptism is not a prerequisite to entering heaven. Baptism is an act. the significance of it is a public declaration of Christ. However, anyone can be baptized and claim affiliation with Christ but not mean it. It is what is in the heart that gets a person into heaven. There are millions of people that think that they are going to heaven who will get a rude awakening on Judgment Day. Their lips said the right things, but their hearts remained unclean. they did all the right things in public, but they failed to clean up their sin life. Anyone who is not covered in the blood of Jesus will not be allowed in heaven. Baptism alone will not satisfy this requirement. I use the two thieves that were crucified along with Jesus as an example. One thief was bitter and mocking---he went to hell. The other thief repented and beg Jesus for mercy---he went to heaven. Neither thief was baptized, but the humble thief was promised paradise. A humble heart is the key. A heart full of pride cannot see God nor the kingdom of heaven.

Baptizing is only one small part of Christianity. You also have to read and live the word every day. If being baptized was the only thing anyone needed to get into heaven there would be a lot of unrepentant sinners in heaven.

I would like to ask you a question, the answer you give, you can apply to your own question as well.I truly do not mean to be so rude to you I just don't know of any other way of putting it.common sense is the answer to your question.(example)A man and woman get married, they declare their marriage be four man and god, therefor with the witness of a judge and his signature they obtain their marriage license stating that they are now husband and wife, they leave the court house, tell each other thank you,and go their separate way's,they got married for a financial reason only, they did not have a commitment with each other or a relationship. That is not a marriage, with or without the marriage license.I'm not accusing you,I don't know you ,but just in case.No commitment,no relationship,no trip to heaven, with or without the baptism.Take Care.

Baptism is an act of obedience. Remember the thief on the cross. Jesus said to him "This day thou will be with me in paradise." He never made it to be Baptized but made it to heaven because he was saved right there hanging on that cross.

Only if done by the correct authority by a worthy servant of our Lord Jesus Christ by one who has been called and set apart by the laying on of hands to act in His name to do so,
and,
it is done in the correct manner after the same baptism that Jesus Christ had: by immersion.

The symbolism is the greatest part about the baptism.

Baptism is only the doorway to the path that leads back to God and heaven. There are further steps to be taken thereafter.

Not necessary. There is not even a command in the Bible to Christians to be baptized. A doctrine blown way out of proportion by Baptist theologians.

no. Accepting that Jesus Christ is our Savior, Admitting you are a sinner and then asking for forgiveness from Jesus and then asking him to be your personal lord and savior is how you get into heaven. Baptism is just following what Jesus did. He was baptized by John the Baptist.

Nope. It is when you believe in your heart that Jesus is the True Son of GOd, the Savior of the World, and that He died for you. Baptism only signifies that you are his now and are ready to do what he asks you,

Baptism is the gateway, but continued obedience to the commandments after baptism is also a necessary requirement.

Nothing can keep you from returning home to Gods loving embrace. It is Gods will and nothing that you could ever do can change Gods will.

Love and blessings
