The typical First child syndrome is nerves of the unknown to come. lol A woman has a natural maternal instinct for all of her children. Having a favorite does happen, but it does not mean you love any of the others less. Children have personalities, and we each react to personalities a little differently. Enjoy your newborn. Believe me, all of your children will be perfect in your eyes, but do not be afraid of a letdown with the second, third, fourth, etc... You might be surprised to find you bond more with the second or third than the first. It does happen. When you hold your second, third, or whatever, you will be overwhelmed with love for the new child. I hope this helps.

I think the youngest Child syndrome is more common. i am the first one out of 5 and always got blame for everything.I didn't mind that but prefer to be at least the second one instead

I am actually trying for baby no 2 at the moment and i am so scraed that i will not love that baby as much as i love my son, i find it really dificult to imagine that i could. although i am the oldest and i am like the black sheep where as my sister is the one they expect great things from and when she does mess up its never quite as bad as when i do, so i don't think it does exist. shame that the first born has to be the guinea pig though !!!!

It's the opposite in my family. I'm the oldest and considered the "black sheep" and my youngest brother is similar. Our middle brother is the straight laced "perfect" child.
