no they are very poor value for money, they offer very poor returns in generating electricity and very expensive to produce!

nuclear energy is the only real way forward

if they were that good for the enviorment why arent they scattered everywhere?

and to the dick above who said they are very eco freindly , how do you think all the parts are made for the turbine? in factories which pollute the atmosphere, there are much more efficent ways to generate power

on a small scale you could put a 3kilowatt wind turbine at the end of your garden. The whole thing costs between £14,000 and £16,000. That would power a four bed house all year round. The longer you live there the better the value.

On a wind farm scale they are. Environmentally they are worth it no matter what the scale, however economically only large wind farms in the right locations are economically viable.

Why, do you want to buy one?
Seriously, they're totally eco-friendly way to produce electricity. It shouldn't mater how much energy they actually produce. What matters is that we're not polluting the atmosphere with dangerous emissions and burning unnecessary fossil fuels.
