I am a Baha'i and I'd like to thank you for this first honest, religious "may I have your opinion" Q: I have seen on Yahoo! Answers as of yet.
Hopefully it will encourage many more such Q:s and answers.
Anyhow, as I have said, I am a Baha'i.
And to Baha'is, Christianity and Islam is like looking at our history, our older brothers and sisters.
Baha'is, like Islam, believe in progressive revelation of religion.
Each Manifestation of God (Adam, Abraham, Moses, Christ, Muhammad, Baha'ullah....) brought a new spiritual lesson, building on the past one.
My favorite analogy is of school grades.
The Great religions (Jew, Christianity, Islam, Baha'i...) are like grades in school, each Manifestation a teacher of that grade.
The next grade does not in no way cancel out the last. It simply builds on it.
So, basically, we are all one religion.
Christians are like Jews as 2nd graders are to 1st graders.
Muslims are like Christians as 3rd graders are to 2nd graders.
Baha'is are to Muslims as 4th graders are to 3rd graders.
I mean, it makes sense doesn't it?
If we, as simple human beings, know well enough that our new borns can't handle advance calculus right out of the womb, don't you think God is wise enough to not give His own children advance spirituality right out of Eden?
My humble P.O.V.

No, Muslim and Islam are pretty much the same thing.
I'm a Pagan, and I think that ALL paths are valid. I mean, it's a basic thing, isn't it, to be courteous and respectful to your fellow human being, to consider their needs and feelings? I've met people from all types of religious backgrounds who do this, and who are not inclined to be extreme by any means ... I've also run into a few fundamentalists from various paths. While the more PC-minded among us would argue that they too are entitled to their convictions, I personally find it so hard to accept it when someone says that it's wrong to do this or do that because some priest or cleric says that this is what this sentence in this book actually means, and that I'm going to hell because I do this ... this is inciting dislike, it not outright hatred.
Those books, the Koran, the Bible, the Book of Shadows (which is a Pagan guide, if you are wondering), all they are are GUIDES. You can adopt them as dogma - many have - but at the end of the day they are only people's opinions written down and you can only decide whether you want to take this person's opinion on advisement or as a fundamental truth. Personally, I go for the advisement. I don't want to tell people what they should believe, it's not my place. But I think that sometimes it's worth suggesting to them - Christian, Muslim, Jew, Hindu, Pagan, whatever - that they might like to reconsider HOW they believe, how they adopt this information, do they question the epistemology they are given.

I'm a Christian and my relationship is personal. No one can really judge it, it would be like judging my marriage, etc. You really don't know what goes on in closed doors.
I do have a reputation among my friends & aquaintences as being kind, giving & compassionate....besides being "religious" because I don't participate in immorality. I'm also known for being the one that doesn't complain all the time. The only reason I do this is to be a reflection of the goodness of my Lord.
The muslims I know are REQUIRED to pray a few times a day. They have to assume a certain position & face a certain way. They have to "earn" their way to paradise. The only reason I know someone is muslim at work or whatever is by the way they dress. It's not their kindness or joy or hope that comes from them. So....in my world, it seems Islam is outward, Christianity is inward.
P.S. I keep seeing people say that Christians are killing people. Well, I'm pretty sure that as men & women protect America, they're protecting all religions in America & atheists. I also believe that there are all religions represented in our government & military, so please stop accusing Christians exclusively of killing people.

As a Muslim...I have nothing against Christianity...we are taught that the Bible was one of the many books that was sent by Allah, But the fact is over the ages it has become corrupted with people changing words thinking that they would mean the same thing but which in the course of time have totally different meanings, we also believe that Jesus (PBUH) was a messenger of Allah not His son...In todays world many Christians believe that Islam encourages hatred but the truth is that Islam teaches peace and allows war only in self defence...It is clear that many Christian leaders are bent on misrepresenting Islam, even their Pope connects Islam with terrorism, calling christianity a peaceful religon...are we waging wars with helpless countries? Saudi arabia and Kuwait alone offered 700 million in aid money to the recently devestated Lebanon instead of supplying arms to the aggressor (Israel)...do you think that the invasion of Iraq has helped anyone least of all the Iraqis...to date 41986 Iraqi civilians have been killed, even after the invasion...We do not encourage hate Christians or even encourage it, tey themselves have created these circumstances by their acts...do we insult your religous beliefs and make fun of the One you call God...your recent acts have shown how much you tolerate and respect other peoples beliefs (danish cartoons, Popes remarks)...so don't blame us for terrorism blame yourselves for causing it and the people who commit such acts for their own benefits and justify it on the basis of religon...

I am a Taoist.
It seems to me that Christianity and Islam are faulted in nearly identical ways. However..... Islam has become a distortion of itself in the hands of the middle eastern Arabic peoples. Christianity can be horribly damaging but the Muslims have made themselves into a disease.

I am a Pagan and I strongly believe everyone should be free to follow whatever religion they wish to, as long as they are tolerant to others beliefs and don't try to force their own religion upon others. If you are a true believer of any faith then you would still be following the same principals which is caring about all life.

I think the extreme Islamic fundamentalist believe they are being directed by the Koran and Allah to do whatever it takes to rid the world of infidels.
I think the main stream Islamists are too silent and should condemn the extreme factions. Why don't they?
I think they are too sensitive. An example today is the pope's comments and a few months ago it was the Mohamed cartoons.
They demand apologies for what they perceive to be insults but when an innocent civilian hostage is beheaded on video, where is the outrage?

I am christian and i dont know much about the Muslim faith, except what i see on TV which i know may be distorted. I basically just accept whatever beliefs a person may have even if they are different from mine. Its between them and their God.

I'm neither. I wish people would just accept the fact that there are various religions about but at the end of the day they are still people. If someone has a religion it doesn't make them special nor does it mean they can be downgraded or insulted.

Well, I´m an atheist and I think Christians and Muslims are just polirised and full of fear and religious racism. The Jews as well. That is exactly why religious wars started AFTER those two religions appeared.....
