Because, God is also a just God, who is the creator of all of us and he can stand as much evil as he can and then THATS IT!! No more. God gives us soo many chances, he forgives us soo many times yet we just continue with our evil ways. Noah and his family was the only ones who headed the call to repent and trust God. Everyone else thought they were invincible and refused to acknowledge his presence and power and might. he gave them so many opportunities to change but they didnt. So he just said 'OK its all over now'.

The reason God wanted to start over with Noah and his family, was that they were basically the only good ones left, and God knew Noah's heart.
I Believe the reason why the world was so evil at that time was due to Satan and the third of Angels that fell, they came to the earth, and they mingle with mankind, that's why there was giants in does days, Angels were large in size. God wanted to clean up earth up, Satan mess and start over with someone he can trust like Noah.

Because those people denied God. God is the owner of everything. How would you feel if you provided food, clothing, shelter and all of the amenities of life to your family and they treated you like you didn't even exist? How about if they did that for 75 years of you life?
Well, that's what these people were doing to God... denying His very existence. so in the end, God gave them a chance saying, hey my friend Noah knows me... and he knows I'm telling the truth. I'm real and I'll send down the rain... He warned them for something like 850 years.
in the end, i'm sure everyone believed as they were drowning. by then it was too late.

God is also just, and sin must be dealt with. If gone unchecked, the sin of Noah's day would have ruined God's plan for Man's salvation. Through Noah, and his descendents, in particular, Abraham, God provided the family through which would come Jesus the Christ. So to provide a way for all to come to Him.

I even have asked myself this too, and have come to determining the only answer, and that's that God has a reason(s) for allowing the devil/demons to function in this earth with human beings. as quickly as we are tempted to do evil, and face as much as, we in turn strengthen closer to God, and alter into better human beings. Like weight lifting. on a similar time as you could say that having the devil/demons in this earth can inspire human beings to do undesirable issues, seeing human beings do those undesirable issues can inspire human beings to no longer choose to do evil, and seem to God via determining that evil relatively exists. The Bible tells us this: (a million Corinthians 10:13) "No temptation has overtaken you different than what's ordinary to humanity. God is dedicated, and he won't help you be tempted previous what you're in a position, yet with the temptation he will additionally furnish a fashion of get away so which you would be able to undergo it." (James a million:2-4) "evaluate it organic exhilaration, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many varieties, considering you be attentive to that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. enable perseverance end its artwork so as which you will be mature and finished, no longer lacking something. yet God will wreck the devil sometime : (Revelation 20:10) "And the devil who deceived them substitute into thrown into the lake of hearth and brimstone."

Read the bible.... it says that the earth was filled with violence and mankind was doing evil continually..... there was no one good except for Noah and his family who served God.
Don't judge God....especially if you didn't read the bible and got all the info straight first.

The question contains flaws. God does not exist therefore he was not responsible for the near extinction of human kind (as well as almost all animals). There is further evidence that shows that there was no great flood. I am sure you are well aware of this but I felt the need to answer for all of the gullible ones out there.
