Good question! Am glad you really want to talk to the best Friend a person may ever have.

¨Prayer is the opening of the heart to God as to a friend. Not that it is necessary in order to make known to God what we are, but in order to enable us to receive Him. Prayer does not bring God down to us, but brings us up to Him.¨

Do you have friends? How do you talk to them? Well, God really wants to be your friend, and you can trust Him just the way you trust your friends, and even more! Do you have a ¨memorized¨talking with your friends? I'm sure you don´t. Well, that´s the way Jesus likes us to talk to Him. Not just repeat a memorized prayer, but talk to Him with an open heart. Talk to Jesus as you would with your best friend. Tell Him about your day: your happiness, sorrows, what you did this day, about your friends, your boyfriend, how you feel, your thoughts and your plans for the future. You might think that He wouldn´t care about your day or your daily life, but actually He does care. Talk to Him about whatever you want, just as you would do it with your best friend.

¨Keep your wants, your joys, your sorrows, your cares, and your fears before God. You cannot burden Him; you cannot weary Him. He who numbers the hairs of your head is not indifferent to the wants of His children. "The Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy." James 5:11. His heart of love is touched by our sorrows and even by our utterances of them. Take to Him everything that perplexes the mind. Nothing is too great for Him to bear, for He holds up worlds, He rules over all the affairs of the universe. Nothing that in any way concerns our peace is too small for Him to notice. There is no chapter in our experience too dark for Him to read; there is no perplexity too difficult for Him to unravel. No calamity can befall the least of His children, no anxiety harass the soul, no joy cheer, no sincere prayer escape the lips, of which our heavenly Father is unobservant, or in which He takes no immediate interest. "He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds." Psalm 147:3. The relations between God and each soul are as distinct and full as though there were not another soul upon the earth to share His watchcare, not another soul for whom He gave His beloved Son¨.

Through prayer, you can also thank God for all His blessings given upon you and your loved ones, and ask Him what you need. Though He´s aware of what you need, He likes you to ask Him because by that way you´re learning how to trust God. Prayer ¨is the key in the hand of faith to unlock heaven's storehouse, where are treasured the boundless resources of Omnipotence¨. He is always going to give you what is the best for you. Jesus says, "Ask, and it shall be given you¨ (Matthew 7:7); because "He that spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?" (Romans 8:32).

There are so much to say about prayer, but you may read the following webpage about prayer: http://www.whiteestate.org/books/sc/sc11.html

¨Our God is a tender, merciful Father. His service should not be looked upon as a heart-saddening, distressing exercise. It should be a pleasure to worship the Lord and to take part in His work. God would not have His children, for whom so great salvation has been provided, act as if He were a hard, exacting taskmaster. He is their best friend; and when they worship Him, He expects to be with them, to bless and comfort them, filling their hearts with joy and love. The Lord desires His children to take comfort in His service and to find more pleasure than hardship in His work. He desires that those who come to worship Him shall carry away with them precious thoughts of His care and love, that they may be cheered in all the employments of daily life, that they may have grace to deal honestly and faithfully in all things.¨

Well, hope this may help; God bless you, my friend!

Pick a time to take a walk. Stop at a tree and feel the rough bark.
Listen to the sounds of the world, people talking, dogs barking, children laughing. When your a few yards away from you home turn around and look at it.

Remember the parties you went to. Your friends from school through all of the grades. Remember your parents, brothers, sisters, pets.

Continue walking around the block slowly and as you remember each part of your life look up at the sky and say; Thank You for all that you have blessed me with.
Walk back home and if you still live with your parents, brothers, sisters. Give them a hug without reason and when you are asked why? Answer: Because you are the answers to my prayers.

The easiest way to learn is to go to the church and listen attentively to the priest's sermon. And observe other people praying. Or just ask the priest how and tell him that you're serious.

There is not a formula or technique to pray, just talk to the FATHER like you are talking to your dear friend in the name of JESUS and with the help of HOLLY SPIRIT.

You pray from the depths of your soul and believe in what you are saying when you praise the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Our Father who art in Heaven is a place to start.........

When you were very young, did you suddenly start talking with your parents in long sentences and for great lengths of time? I doubt it. And yet they weren't disappointed in you; they were delighted in your first attempts to speak.

In the same way, when we truly understand that God is our loving heavenly Father and we are His children, then we won't worry so much about "running out of things to say" or disappointing Him. God wants us to talk with Him, our heavenly Father, and He takes delight in us when we come to Him in prayer. When His disciples asked Jesus how to pray, He replied, "This, then, is how you should pray: 'Our Father in heaven ...'" (Matthew 6:9).

Begin when you pray by thanking and praising God for His love and goodness. The Psalmist wrote, "Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!" (Psalm 107:8, KJV). Then confess your sins and ask for His forgiveness. Finally, bring your concerns to Him. You may find it helpful to keep a list of people for whom you are praying.

Perhaps, however, the first prayer you need to make is one of faith, asking Christ to come into your life and giving yourself to Him. Christ has opened Heaven's door for us by His death on the cross, and when we know Him, we know God hears our prayers.
