it is not the P2P software that makes it unsafe but the content of what you are downloading... For example limewire is only a medium for you to connect from other PC and buy subscribing to them will boost you're downloading but I don't think it would scan for any viruses on what files you are downloading... remember trojan horses... better scan the file first before opening it..

Unfortunately this website will make anyone feel as if they are an expert at what the asker is proposing. In this case there are some people who are completely oblivious as to what they are talking about.
Limewire infact is a very danergous program. Any p2p program is dangerous for that matter. People are capable of coding malicious files into whatever it is you want from p2p and uploading it for you to download, run, and not even be aware that you have been infected until you run a virus scan and find a virus. Then you think, hmm I wonder where that came from!!
If you want to take the high road when it comes to downloading pirated files I would get with the times and start using torrents. Now you people may say that the same thing can be done with torrents. This is true but it makes it much much harder for something to do it. Plus sites like torrentspy and piratebay have a comment section where people discuss the program/file/etc. I have gotten several heads-up's from this and most of the time the file will be removed form the site.
Do not use p2p
Use torrents
Thanks for your time, and happy pirating!

Limewire the software is absolutely safe. But be careful of what u r downloading. Anything that looks too small compared to what u want to download has a 99% chance of being a virus. Beware of extremely small looking files and files with names exactly the way u type(search for) them. These r definitrly trojans. Just keep a look out and ull be perfectly alright.

I'd recommend frostwire instead. It's the same exact software with a less chance of viruses, etc.

you will find your system will come slow & crash down .you may have a good anti virus/firewall/anti spyware. but if you use limwewire or any other p2p software you security is down you may have your firewall on and a system guardian on but your system security is open to let all virus /trojans/worms/spyware in then your system will have big problem's .it is upto you if you use limwewire .
