I was attacked a few weeks ago outside my parents house by some stupid b*tch and a couple of her friends there was a bit of a scuffle between us when the police showed up i was arrested as well when i asked why i was told b/c i had been fighting back and b/c her injuries were worse then mine (she had minor cuts and bruses to her face) i had gone over board this struck me as odd considering the fact she would have had NO injuries if she had not attacked me Now the daft moo has attacked my sister when the police showed up this time my sister (who is only 14) was not arrested b/c she ran away well anyways i got talking to the officer and i asked him as the law stands (i live in England) what you can do to defend yourself he said you are allowed ONE punch back then you have to run away or you are seen as being just as bad but i think if you ran away she show them you are scared and they will harass you even more it just seems to me we are not allowed to DEFEND ourselves any more

I think this is a joke what do you all think?
Should we be allowed to defend our selves with more than one punch or should we make that one punch count

Damn straight we should be able to defend ourselves! If I'm attacked I will respond, I see no other way for this. It seems very logical to me.

The thing with one punch and run away is stupid because that will not stop the attacker, they'll run after you and then what?! Am I allowed to give another punch and run away again?! What kind of crazy fighting style is this?! lol seems more like a cartoon or something

Get a lawyer, you were just defending yourself. Some witnesses would help!! because they can testify that you were just defending from an attacker

Well the small frame autos you mentioned would be much easier to carry/conceal, and all calibers mentioned would easily do the job in a self defense situation. Plus you have a much higher magazine capacity with the autos (15-20 depending on make/caliber) as opposed to your 6 shot revolvers. In addition, a .40 Glock will have less recoil than a .44 mag shooting full loads, which puts you back on target much quicker for a second shot. Keep in mind though, double-stack .45s such as those produced by Glock have an extremely wide grip, which may be uncomfortable if you have small hands. BUT if you are confident and comfortable using your revolvers, then use one of those. At the end of the day, it all comes down to personal preference and you should use what ever works best for YOU

Oh my god that's freaking terrible, I'm glad I don't
live their and deal with their B/S laws. I hope your
OK. I agree with you about running, that will make
you look like a punk a s s b i t c h. I'm glad you
stood up to those low life's. Good for you, more
power to you. Maybe the next time if you run
into that situation again which I hope you don't,
but if you do........if is possible maybe you can
find a way to trip them if they come towards you.
Or punch them in the eyes or their nose real hard
and say they walk in while you put your arms out
to defend yourself and it's not your fault.

Hey good luck and I wish you the best, be safe.

I don't think that's fair, but if you want to keep with the law and not get into trouble, you may have to abide by what the police officer said.

It's really unfortunate to see that. If you can take some self-defense classes, you should try that. You and your sister may want to try having some friends to escort you home as well.

I think it's terrible when you can't even walk home in peace without having to worry about your own welfare.

If the police get involved in a dispute then you will just have to accept their interpretation of the law.
