No man has the honor to speak on behalf of the One True God.
It is the Holy Spirit, Who manifests Himself from time to time to teach mankind a new lesson to build an ever-advancing civilization on earth.
The Manifestations of God are the Founders of various world religions which are the same on the spiritual aspect, and different on the social aspect to suit the changing conditions of human socities.

Keeping oneself unbiased on these sort of issues is almost impossible. As much as I do not claim myself to possess expertise in the field of religious faiths in a broader perspective, it is to be said that Islam and Christianity, when looked at with the deepest sense of learning only the truth and nothing but it, holds irreplaceable positions in answering those which you asked.
According to Islam, prophets came not to mediate between mankind and God, but to make people understand what God wills. It is more or less with a number of versions of Christianity, though people have in their 'arrogance' elevated certain individuals to the level of God. But I can not say that for certain as well, whether Muslims or Christians are the most correct.
To answer your question of why God let it happen, I must admit I know not a single thing out of that as well. What God wills, will happen.

I presume you are asking why god sends prophet and doesn't show himself.

1) Seeing god would be the end of your trial it would ammount to seeing the 'answers'. You would no longer have faith, but know. If god came as a men then his message would lose credibility

Quran 006.008
They say: "Why is not an angel sent down to him?" If we did send down an angel, the matter would be settled at once, and no respite would be granted them.

006.009
If We had made it an angel, We should have sent him as a man, and We should certainly have caused them confusion in a matter which they have already covered with confusion.

so ponder what would the case be if god came himself

2) Credibility, if god came as a man and shown himself. Obviously he would profess to be a god and require people to worship him. This would tarnish his credibility. which is why in the quran you often see verses critiscizing people why they disbelieve someone who doesnt ask for anything.

010.072
"But if ye turn back, (consider): no reward have I asked of you: my reward is only due from Allah, and I have been commanded to be of those who submit to Allah's will (in Islam)."

So a prophet being selfless, and doing the work for god in itself adds to his credibility, further giving people no reason to disbelieve him. Furthermore, god gives them his miracles anyway, so him showing himself as a men wouldn't serve any purpose.

3) A prophet serves as an example. He being human suffers all the challenges men have. His example goes from being a family men to being a devout servant. God couldn't set an example of being a good husband or father or son, or a good worshipper.

Quran 060.004
YUSUFALI: There is for you an excellent example (to follow) in Abraham.....

Quran 060.006
There was indeed in them an excellent example for you to follow,- for those whose hope is in Allah and in the Last Day. But if any turn away, truly Allah is Free of all Wants, Worthy of all Praise.

033.021
Ye have indeed in the Messenger of Allah a beautiful pattern (of conduct) for any one whose hope is in Allah and the Final Day, and who engages much in the Praise of Allah.

Bear in mind the prophets in islam are considered impeccable. Not so the case in christianity. Islam rejects the notions of prophets sleeping with their daughters and getting drunk.

"Allah" is not an acceptable term for Almighty God.

It is true that the Almighty did not say, "Listen, thousands of years from now when a new language called English comes along, they can pronounce my name as 'Jehovah' and that's fine."

Instead, like with any and every personal name, different languages TRANSLATE personal names to fit their lingual tendencies. George becomes "Hor-hey" in Spanish or "Gay-org" in German and no one gets upset.

It's not exactly wrong to call the Almighty by the impersonal "God", just as it's not wrong to call one's offspring "Child". If we want a familiar and close relationship, however, it makes sense to use the personal name of someone we love. The Scriptures encourage us to use God's personal name.

The Hebrew name “Yahweh” (or “Yehowah”) does seem to accurately pronounce the divine name. Just as the Hebrew name “Yeshua” (or “Yehoshua”) is translated into “Jesus” in English, the Hebrew name “Yahweh” is translated into “Jehovah” in English.

The important thing is to use God’s personal name in whatever language you speak, rather than insisting upon the impersonal! The name “Yahweh” is certainly preferable to the non-name “God” or “Lord”, especially if you speak Hebrew. If you speak English, feel free to use the name "Jehovah".

(Psalms 83:18) That people may know that you, whose name is Jehovah, You alone are the Most High over all the earth

(John 17:26) [Jesus said] I have made your name known to them and will make it known, in order that the love with which you loved me may be in them

Yehovah is the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Moses, not Allah...

EDIT: I misunderstood your question because of the phrasing, ignore my answer.

You just put everything in the mixing bowl and turn it on and what comes out nobody knows.. Why don't you throw budda in there too with a pinch of krishna. Bake it all in the oven at 350 and out comes a new god..

Allah is not the same as God. Allah is Satan who tricked many wicked people in to worshiping him. The Bible is proof that Jesus Christ is the real God our personal savior.

He didnt need to you know.

But He wanted to be victorious over the enemy with us and so, He chose people to be His messengers and be part of that victory that is sure to come one day.
