He split up with her 2 weeks ago after nearly 1 1/2 years & is having trouble getting over her. He's out every night, so at least he's not at home feeling sorry for himself. What advice can I give to him as a mate? Thanks.

Be a good friend and keep him company when he needs it, avoid mentioning anything that has to do with his ex, hopefully he will get over it.

I had a similar situation like your friend not that long ago, I had been with this girl for over 2 years! Yes it will hurt for a while but in time he will date other girls!

Sounds like he's doing all the right things to me... getting out and about... it's only been a couple of weeks, so he's bound to be a little raw still. Just be there for him, avoid places that he might bump into his ex. A bit of cliche, but time will make things better.

He's got to have sex with a lot of other women to make up for the last 18months. Get him drunk at the local meat market and stuff a couple of condoms in his shirt pocket. It's not pretty, but it's something we all have to go through.

maybe he should take some time out by himself instead of going out every night to prove he doesnt need her....i dont think you ever get over your first love, you may have many loves in your life, but your first is always in your heart.

Best way to get over the last one is to get under the next one.

Sign your best friends exs-girlfriend to all those dating sites, with photos(best yet photoshop) like myspace, hi5..etc and tell everyone shes easy.

then invite your best friend over for some beers, and get drunk and show your friend his ex's sites and all the guys wanting to be her Net friend....laugh, and then hug each other.

2 weeks is nothing - he just needs more time - just be a good mate and keep him company when he needs it.
