I'm taking this girl out tomorrow that I met through a friend. I haven't actually seen her but I talked to her on the phone on Monday for a couple minutes and she seems perfect. I don't know what she does for a living or what her religion is or what she looks like but I think I'm in love.
It's the way she said "I'll see ya Friday" that sold me on her.
I bought the ring yesterday and I want to pop the question but I don't want to sound like a virgin or a nerd or like I'm a 32 year old going on his first date.
Is there a method I should use to attack this proposal? If she says no, I'll probably break something. I've been known to act irrationally at times.
I REALLY don't want her to say No...

after a cople more weeks of talking on the phome tell your friend to hide the ring somewere in her apartment when you are talking in the phone tell her to go were the ring is then say will you marry me. talk to her over the phone about the weading and keep the suprise of what you guys look like intel the weding that would be so romantic!!!!

Go out with her first. Then if she is attracted to you, ask her to go out again. If you throw the ring on the table and pop the question on the first date, you might just scare her off. Go out a few times, play it cool. To pushy and you'll most likely push her away.
You could ask her what her opinion is on marriage and keep the topic short. Talk about other things as well. I didn't propose to my wife, we both knew and set a date after we'd been going out for a few months.
If you're right for each other, you'll both know.

Don't be impulsive. You haven't even seen this girl yet. Know her for at least 1 year, go through all the seasons and holidays before you propose. When you know the person, you won't be nervous. You do seem desperate to be thinking like this at this stage.

You are really jumping the gun here junior. You should try that whole date thing out first. Then try a few more, after you have done this several times and you are still on speaking terms then you might want to THINK about asking that question.

Give her a car, and then tell her she can only keep it if she marries you ... but of course tell her that she would only be allowed to drive it when you're not using it.
