It says in Matthew that Jesus was very plain so as not to inspire lust in anyone...it's the only description of Jesus appearance for what it is worth.

Goodness. The poster called cherylyoung recently posted one of her long posts, WITH CITATIONS, that included two descriptions of Jesus of Nazareth by Romans(not the book, a couple of writers from Rome).
Apparently there were two descriptions of Jesus in the writings of antiquity external to the Bible. Although he was short by today's standards, the descriptions seem to fit with the portraits of what I used to call "surfer Jesus".
One of the writers had him with light brown hair, straight to the shoulders where it began to curl, the other described Jesus similarly. One said grey eyes, one said blue eyes.
I wish I had run across this question with more than a few minutes to answer, so I could give you a citation to her post.
If you search for the user cherylyoung, and check her answer history, you can find descriptions of Jesus and the source material.
More curiously, I wonder where Jesus would have run across a mirror, and why he wouldn't have seen his reflection is still water.

According to the Bible Jesus was "the fairest of 10,000."
Jesus is altogether lovely, He saves us, and keeps by His power, from sin and death.

He is the minister of the Sanctuary, He is the mediator the New covenant.
He is the high priest of GOOD THINGS to come, He's the Lion of Judah, and the New and living way.

One day in His courts is better than a thousand, wouldn't you rather be a doorkeeper in His house than dwell in the tents of the world..?
He is the covenant keeper - keeping covenant with covenant breakers..
He is sweeter than all the flowers, He is the lover of our soul and the keeper of our hearts.
HE IS THE KING OF ALL KINGS AND ALL RULERS AND EVERY NATION WILL BOW TO HIM,
HIS NAME IS JESUS....
