I asked my hairdresser about this n he said that it is true to a certain extent - if you dont trim your hair n get rid of split ends, then the hair just snaps at the split parts whi9ch means it doesn't get longer because its just snaooing. But when you regularly trim it, you have no split ends that snap and so your hair just grows normally.
I can say this with confidence cos i also speak from experience x

Maybe the roots know that the hair is cut, because the brain picks up signals, from nerves in the scalp?
It is not unreasonable to think that people notice their hair has been cut.
Generally, hair grows quicker when cut very short and growth slows down as it gets longer, due to damage and deterioration of hair ends.

Yeah, you're right.... The roots grow hair and you give attention to the scalp if you want to actually make your hair grow more. Trimming hair only gets rid of the split ends.

you're hair doesn't grow faster if you trim it. People just say that, because your hard appears thicker after shaving, because you cut the hair at an angel.... I used to wonder about it to :)

It doesn't really grow faster but if you have a lot of split ends your hair can end up shorter because of the splits traveling up the hair shaft.

Yes its true... hair grow faster when its trim...because its due to the split ends... so when we trim that off, new hair can grow...

No, I agree with you...it wouldn't affect the growth. But it helps to snipe off the damaged bits at the ends n the hair looks more healthy as a whole, i reckon..
