There are several theories on that. One of the more obscure is the idea that these epople tend to target victims that they associate with a specific age or body type that they identify with sex. Sometimes its becasue they themselves were a target in the past, sometimes its because the person resembles the first person that they ever had sexual thoughts about. Either way it is those particular traits that they identify with sex. There are some that have even put forth the idea that it is a natural response to the physiological changes that are taking place where the average age of puberty has lowered to 8 or 9 where it was, just twenty years ago 11 to 13.

The truth of the matter is, no one really knows for certain, they don't even undestand what causes supposedly normal sexual attraction, let alone abnormal sexual attraction(children, animals, corpses, inanimate objects, etc). Its easy to dismiss these people as sick and give them no further thought, until the issue hits close to home. The thing is, the issue needs to be given thouight, serious thought, that's the only way a solution can be found.

Personally, I think the best solution would be to banish such people to one of the foreign countries where their activities would not be a problem; someplace like Thailand or Cambodia where such things are overlooked, and never allow them to return to the U.S.

I got this from Law and Order but it seems valid. For many pedophiles it is about control and it is easier to control and manipulate a child than it is a teen. And if they liked adults then they would be "normal" and not pedophiles at all.

they have been molested themselves as children and for some reason it is what they do ....... they should all be put in a pit with each other there is no cure no shot no drug it is still in their head they can still touch their victim and in their mind get off by what they are teaching them Most of the sick ******* never get prosecuted if the child is under a certain age
and some so abuse young teens 13 they may have been abusing this child for many years and know just what to say to their victim they know just what to do where to work how to get to the child
I know it happened to my child I am lucky (if that is what they tell me) it was stopped very very early and she will not be a pedophile because of that

I think that for many of them, they had sexual issues has children. Maybe they were molested or sexually active as kids. But there is something wrong going on in their mind related to children and sex. Good question...uh Moe Daddy Pimp?
