Start dating when God says to.
James 1:5If you need wisdom--if you want to know what God wants you to do--ask him, and he will gladly tell you. He will not resent your asking. 6But when you ask him, be sure that you really expect him to answer, for a doubtful mind is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. 7People like that should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.

That is not a decision that has to do with religion.. Divorce for the wrong reason is wrong not only for religious matters.. And dating again after a short period of separation is again wrong in the eyes of common people , not religion... All societies see these things a moral, character based actions, not religion. I agree with the respodant below me... I'm an Orthodox and I see that the real Christians are disappearing. Many Christians nowadays marry at a young age.. They don't even know what it is.. And many youngsters nowadays get married and after a very short period of time they divorce. They think that it's the papers that divorce them.. That's not what is really happening at all.

This don't even sound like a christian question, but who am I to judge. You should wait an acceptable period AFTER the divorce is FINALIZED, You shouldn't even be thinking about dating if you are just separated. You need to give yourself time to breath. Being in a relationship, ending one is draining.

Being separated for any period of time and having a relationship with another person is wrong. Why is it wrong? Because you are entering into adultary as you are still connected to the other person. Until that hammer comes down in the court of law you are still connected to your wife.
Imagine going out with a person and them saying to you "what about getting married?" What you going to say, "I am married!" Remember "separation" is only living apart you are still married until that hammer comes down.
Before you seek divorce do everything in your power to hold the marriage with love. Scripture says that God hates divorce. Divorce brings hurt, division and God hates hurt and division which all happens when you go down this path.
Remember "All things work together for good to those who love Him."
There is life after death and there is life after divorce.

If you are divorced, you need to get your marriage annulled. If you are separated, dating is a big no no. You need to give yourself time to process all of this- and your kids, if you have them. You should NOT be jumping into another relationship right now. Hang out with your girlfriends if you are a woman and with the guys if you are a guy. Also, make sure your associations are pure. Hang out with the ones that go to your church and will not encourage you to sin.

I think it would be perferable to wait until after the divorce. Why start a new relationship when you haven't finish with the last one. I would wait just to make sure things don't get messy.
