Could be better. Back in 1995 when I took a job in Saudi Arabia, I bought a Hyundai Sonata, partly because it was about only 60% of the cost of a new Toyota similar size. Many people told me I'd have problems and re-sale value would be low. I kept that car for 8-1/2 yrs until I left Saudi Arabia and I never had ANY problems, it hardly cost me anything in repairs, just changed the oil and tires. I sold it for 20% of the original price, which means from an investment point of view, much better than the more expensive Toyota.
My first car was a Honda Civic which I bought in 1976 and traded in for a BMW in 1979. The Honda was a rust bucket after 2 yrs and I will never buy another.

Hyundai is now partially owned by toyota and toyota has implemented many quality control standards , in my lifetime people were saying the same thing about toyota and honda. Now domestic manufactures are trying to catch up. Hyundai would not still be in business if thier product was not good. (yugo) My sister ownes an elantra and has had no problems with it and it really runs well and is very reliable. I recomend it.

Oh my god, who told you that!
Just because they give you 100,000.00 miles
or 10 years warranty on Hyundai it doesn't
mean is good or better. Think about it, why on
earth Hyundai is willing to give you so many
miles or 10 years warranty (which ever comes
first) on their vehicle. I can definitely tell you
Hyundai can never come close to Honda's or
Toyota. not even by 1%. I personally do not
like American vehicle, don't get me wrong I
think their styles are very nice but when it
comes to quality of an engine nope......too
many problem after maybe 3 years. I say the
best Japanese vehicles are Acura, Toyota,
Honda and Nissan. They practically last almost
forever!
