Possible causes include:

* Excessive gas
* Chronic constipation
* Lactose intolerance (milk intolerance)

* Kidney stones
* Urinary tract infections
* Pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas)
* Intussusception (telescoping intestines) -- while uncommon, this is a serious possible cause of pain in an infant who may be drawing his or knees to the chest and crying to indicate the pain
* Dissecting abdominal aortic aneurysm -- bleeding into the wall of the aorta
* Parasite infections (Giardia)
* Sickle cell crisis
* Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis (two different types of inflammatory bowel disease)

gas - sometimes people feel like their appendix is bursting because it hurts that bad. I have endometriosis, PCOS and ovarian cysts - and with that comes terrible gas pains. If the pain is above your hip bones, it's NOT female related, it's gas or another gastrointestinal issue likely. Try taking some mylicon - they have a generic brand that's OTC - they're chewable tablets and will help.

Many things could be causing you pain, if it is severe, get to your gynecologists, you could be experiencing Endometreosis, or Water cysts, too many to lists, you really should go get checked out, an Ultrasound doesn't hurt, and could be beneficial.
