Abhorrent and repugnant! And today very stupid to senselessly attack a major religion without cause. Was the vatican under seige?
Christianity has also had its share of negative impact on civilization as well. But why try to destroy the basis for moral character that means so much to so many! Better we should all have a soft spot to land when the trials and tribulation of life seem at times so unbearable. And each to his own!

i'm particular this is going to. yet, it again shows us some issues about Islam. Don’t you spot the irony in Muslims with the flexibility to desecrate a Christian Temple in Jerusalem by employing spreading feces on images of Christ? yet a Christian chief (the Pope) can’t remind human beings of what 14th century Byzantine emperor Manuel Paleolous II stated about the income Mohammad countless hundred years in the past. It wasn’t even the Popes personal words or theory. He develop into repeating what Paleolous II supposedly stated. . What’s with the allergic reaction besides? The Muslims can dance contained in the streets; shout and yell; advance their fists all they prefer to yet i do not trust the Pope owes Muslims an apology for something. some have contended the terrorists are one of those radical Islam and a small minority of the religion. they say the large majority of Muslims are a non violent human beings. i'm putting out to ask your self about those claims when I see the suggested tens of millions contained in the streets protesting what the Pope repeated. 2 confronted or what? Is Islam a non violent faith or a violence depending faith? by employing what i'm seeing and listening to, i might want to ought to finish the latter.

he wasnt saying it in his own words. he was quoting the words of an early century emperor and trying to pass the message -- do not insult other religions. he was trying to tell people that there are many who are hellbent on creating false propagandas about other religions and prophets.. the MESSAGE OF POPE'S SPEECH WAS -- DO NOT INSULT OTHER'S RELIGION BUT LEARN TO RESPECT IT.
The Vatican issued a statement to say the Pope had never meant to offend Islam. ---- "In his speech at the University of Regensburg on Tuesday, Benedict quoted criticism of Islam and the Prophet Mohammad by 14th century Byzantine Emperor Manuel II Palaeologus, who wrote that everything Mohammad brought was evil and inhuman, "such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached."
POPE BENEDICT, who used the terms "jihad" and "holy war," repeatedly QUOTED MANUEL'S ARGUMENT THAT SPREADING THE FAITH THROUGH SWORD IS UNREASONABLE, adding: "Violence is incompatible with the nature of God and the nature of the soul."

He is sadly misinformed about most of Islam's tenets if that were true, and he is not helping bridge the differences between the Christian (Catholic) and the Muslim Faiths...
That said... I am afraid he was right in saying that those quotes from the Q'uran that essentially say "spread the word with the sword" are wrong and evil. No matter what Muslims think about their faith, they cannot deny that it is this command to spread the faith by sword (as misinterpeted as it is) that is partly to blame for the way the Islamic Terrorists have been doing about their business now.
Oops...my mistake...feel free to ignore or blab away against this ignorant post for the day...
(geez...)

Spread By The Sword The Faith He Preached...., Dat phrase doesnt mean that the muslim hav to kill to spread Islam.. It means dat the teaching of Islam shud b spread wit the sharpness of sword, which is sharp n accurate, and with the strenght of the sword, where its made of a fine and hard material n cannot b bended by any outcome, n the importance of the sword that time, where every men shud own it, refers to the importance of spreding it, where it must b carried by every men anywhere.. But if Muhammads teaching is said to b evil, he never allows any muslim to fight in any war, unless to protect the honor of Islam, of to protect the country, or to protect muslimsbrother n sister, s well s to correct the wrong..

No....
The derogatory remarks of the Pope about the philosophy of jihad and Prophet Mohammed have injured sentiments across the Muslim world and pose the danger of spreading acrimony among the religions
The remarks do not express correct understanding of Islam and are merely wrong and distorted beliefs being repeated in the West.
I am really astonished that such remarks come from someone who sits on top of the Catholic church which has its influence on the public opinion in the West
Muslims have the right to be angry and hurt by these comments from the highest cleric in Christianity

Islam is created by Mohamad. He started with his family. And then he killed many people who didn't believe in him. His purpose is to be powerful and popular. Islam is designed to make more believers by messive breeding. No enjoyment but sex. 4 wifes a man. Divorce by saying 3 words. Uses love as a tool to make more islam. They are united and secret messages are spread through mosque every friday. They are always ready to kill or harm anyone who are against their religion. It's the design created by Mohamad.

The intolerant buffoon resents that he couldn't marry or have sex with men, so he decided to condemn rock music instead. We do not need rednecks in the Catholic Church. It is bad enough they live in the neighbourhood.
