"can't they be wrong about evolution?"
Yes, unlike the idea of god, evolution is falsifiable.

Oh lordie, where do I even begin...
1) I have no idea where you come up with this statement: "if evolution was correct then we wouldnt die we would evolve
right?" Um, no. Your understanding of evolution must be pretty poor if you think evolution eliminates death. WTF?
2) You want proof? Look here, for starters:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evolution#Evidence_of_evolution
3) Human beings HAVE evolved... Neanderthals, Homo Erectus, and other "lower" species of humans have been found; that's not a debatable fact. But evolution is an incredibly slow process. Humans won't evolve again for many thousands of years; it won't happen in hundreds of years.
4) Last, but certainly not least... the scientific community is extremely large, and in it, there is absolutely no debate about whether or not evolution took place. Sure, science can be wrong. But there are mountains and mountains of evidence in favor of evolution -- see that link I posted above. And if any scientist could adequately disprove the theory, he'd probably be awarded the Nobel Prize. But have you ever noticed how that hasn't happened?

Firstly you have a gross misunderstanding of evolution. You need to do your research before asking asinine questions like "if evolution was correct then we wouldn't die we would evolve
right?" Anyway...
YES! Science can be wrong... Is it always wrong? no. Is it wrong most of the time? that depends. You see, science is a building body of knowledge. When something is learned it is tested and it may turn out to seem correct until more evidence is found and either supports or contradicts the earlier findings.
The thing about evolution is that it has a VAST body of evidence supporting it. The theory it's self is very broad. You grossly oversimplify things when you say "can't evolution be wrong?" As it stands currently there is so much evidence in support of evolution that on the whole it would be very very very unlikely that your statement is true. Parts of evolution can be wrong, and have been in the past. The great thing about the scientific method is it is a self correcting system. There is no pride involved. If something turns out to be wrong, it's wrong, and it's removed from the theory. If something supports the theory it is tested and added.
Now i assume that by saying "can't evolution be wrong" you are implying that if it is wrong then creation is right. This is a false dichotomy. With the knowledge today are evolution and creationism even comparable? no way! Is creation based on anything more that speculation? How many tests and serious documented observations exist in the body of creationism? Does creationism have a self correcting mechanism to account for things when they turn out to be untrue?

Sure science can be wrong, but the thing is that above all else, it is self-correcting. That is how it is built, that is the very core of science. Find what is wrong. Show why it is wrong.
But as for evolution... you see, this is not out-there untested stuff like the organic chem you were talking about - so many things would also have to be wrong for evolution to be wrong. Evolution is powered by the very same things that make the earth go around the sun, and by math.
Going on their word alone? Nope!
Proof? The physical stuff sure (like radioactive things, and a helluva lot of chemistry and physics), and as for the mechanism , yup, I could reproduce the base algorithm myself with a pen, some paper and about 4 minutes!
And what are you talking about "we have not evolved yet" - I am begining to think that you don't actually know what evolution IS. No shame in that, of course. There are a lot of things that many people don't know.
A very large part of the mechanism of evolution is actually us dying! (with an attempt to give us enough time to have kids) Why on earth would we not die?
As for the maggot and the fly... not evolving, not in the slightest!
Hope that clears it up!
Cheers,
R_A.

Science and scientists can be wrong.
You got a point there about humans not evolving after thousands of years, we are still the same.
But, no, a maggot turning into a fly is not evolution. It is development, like a baby grows into an adult. A Caterpillar turns into a butterfly.
And I go by what the Bible says in Genesis 1:1 In the beginning, God CREATED the Heavens and the earth.

Of course science can be wrong, but their are always new studies which either back up or disprove a theory. There is always evidence to back it up either way.
In regards to evolution, there are studies of both humans and animals which prove evolution (always has) and still happens. Its not just a theory it can be backed with facts (look in biology books)
You also think humans haven't evolved in thousands of years. Unless its escaped your attention, we're no longer cavemen, scraping our knuckles on the ground. That is because we have evolved.
Evolution is correct and of course we're going to die, we're not immortal! Evolution happens to make a species (as a whole) reproduce more effectively and live longer.
Maggots turning into flies is just a part of their life cycle. Its not about evolving. Although, this change in their life cycle, could be as a result of thousands of years of evolution.
Frankly, your question (and argument) is VERY weak

Evolution takes millions of years for a change to be noticed. If you look at pictures of cavemen you will see that humans have evolved. Evolution does not happen in one lifetime. A maggot turning into a fly is not evolution. That is called a life cycle. Flies do not live forever, they live for about 2 weeks.
Evolution is a process of a species changing over long periods of time from generation to generation to adapt to its surroundings.
Evolution is not the process of changing in one lifetime to adapt to its surroundings.
Yes. Science can be wrong. But science is always correcting itself.

ok ill take this dumb question one part at a time.
because i assume your asking it to learn something right? not just to be obnoixious?
1) coffee is good for you in some ways and bad in others
2) science is not wrong because it relies on many successful experiments to prove theories
3) there have IN FACT been experiments proving evolution in bacteria over 1000s of generations. they put the same bacteria into different environments, and the bacteria with dna mutations helping them survive in that environment began to dominate. its called natural selection.
4)humans have evolved. from ape like creatures and all the way up from single celled organisms
5)evolution takes place in reproduction not in death
6)thats not what evolution means in the scientific sense of the word.....
and just because evolution goes against your religion doesnt mean you dont have to be spiritual. so dont think everyone who believes in evolution is an athiest.

Most of the time science is wrong, usually what the story is is that they find some data and say it to be true and then years later they find some more info on the subject and then change the reality of the first belief......this happens consistently with science , probably because no human mind can comprehend the universe and all that is entails.....so yes it is usually wrong,....scientist are only speculating with their minimally proven data I am sure there is much more to electricity, water, molecules, the solar system and our own galaxy than what we know as humans.

A maggot turning into fly is called METAMORPHISM
Humans have reached their potentical NOW - Our natural predators have been removed, we have houses to protect us. All these elements that forced humans to evolve millions of years ago have been taken away - allowing us not to evolve anymore.
And yes I have seen their proof - it is called fossils. Dying is a finishing end - it is through reproduction that evolution occurs
You sound like an idiot

Of course science can be wrong, but when you have dozens of different and independent kinds of evidence all telling you the same thing, it's very unlikely to be wrong. I would suggest learning some of the basics about evolution - what it really means - and then looking at *why* all biologists accept common descent as a fact.
