i think that you should write him a letter instead saying how you feel deep inside your heart, make this memorable by making him relive one of the best days you can remember even if it was his first ice cream and how he messed it all over himself show him how he ate it and tell him those were one of the happiest warmest feelings you have ever exspierenced inyou life it is a small example but i remember how i felt seeing my daughter eating that ice cream like it was the best thing in the world. i would play a song in the background though while he reads your letter, there are so many songs though, if i was you id look into a country song, what you could do is get his faveroute band and ask them if theyd be willing to sing him a song......you never know. just remeber that in the same way your instincts kicked in as a mother when he was a baby and a todler growing up the same way your instincts will kick in here, i pray that you and your son aswell as your husband and family find the strenght through God in this sad time, God bless.

Hello: I am so sorry to hear this. I would suggest "Wind Beneath My Wings" by Bette Midler or an oldie by Helen Reddy called "You and Me Against the World."
Another pretty song is "Danny Boy."
I would recommend talking to your son and telling him how much you love him, and how much he means to you. Hearing is the last sense to go. I am sure that touching and talking to him will lessen his anxiety and fear a lot.
Believe me, I am sure he knows you are a wonderful mom just by how much you care.
Again, I wish you the best and I offer my sympathy and prayers for you in this time of extreme hardship and sorrow.
If you have a radio or CD player on his nightstand, you could get the song and play it to him or have it dedicated to him on a radio station and even if he is asleep you could maybe record it and play it to him when he is more alert if this is possible.
I would go to the record store and someone will be able to help you get one of these songs so you will always have it and can play it to him numerous times, especially when the end is very near.
God bless you. Thankyou for the beautiful question.
I hope I was of some help. If you need to talk more, please email me.

Beth Nielsen Chapman's husband died of brain cancer and she wrote an album of songs about her feelings - Sand & Water is lovely and so is Shelter of Each Other's Arms. Even if you don't use them for your son, you will probably enjoy them. She's got a great voice.
My heart goes out to you and yours. I've always lived with the idea of 'This too shall pass' and had it inscribed on our wedding bands. My husband, hates it though because he interprets it differently to me. Everything in life is transient - not unimportant - just passing through on its way to somewhere (hopefully) better.

Some suggestions, also, how about asking him? after all, this is a tribute to your son:
My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion
Wind Beneath My Wings by Bette Midler
You Raise Me Up by Josh Groban
We are the Champions by Queen
Hero by Mariah Carey
The Rose by Bette Midler

I shall light a white candle for his sweet sole. Songs. "Go Rest High", by Vince Gill--- "In the Arms of An Angel". I am not sure who it is by, but, was the theam to a Meg Ryan movie. Also if he likes Blue-Grass Nothing is better than "Angel Band" "10 thousand Angles Cried.". by LeeAnne Rhymes "Beaula Land" is a favorite here. Elvis has "Amazing Grace-and How Great thou are." Please let HIM chose.. What is his favorite song?? Even if it is Rap, use it. It is the last thing you can do for him... GOD BLESS

I'm very sorry to hear about this.
One of the first songs that comes to my mind is Sarah McLachlan's "hold on". See the link for the lyrics. From what I understand, the song has tremendous meaning for a lot of couples dealing with AIDS, and it applies every bit as well to your situation.
Hold on!

Oh, honey, that is so hard. Bless you for your obvious strength in such a difficult time. I would encourage you to consider either "Be" or "Lonely Looking Sky" by Neal Diamond from the movie Jonathan Living Seagull.
