I'd go with white appliances since you are planning to sell .The brighter a home looks when showing it the more positive the buyer will feel about itwalls , trim and cabinets are easier for the buyer to change .

Black,... never goes out of style,.... NEVER.
Cleaning, can be problematic though, if you don't notice it, you won't clean it. So unless you're a clean freak, it shouldn't be a problem really. Untill something starts to smell rancid.
Though in the future when you do get the Joneses to renovate again, you will find that the black appliances if they are still in good working order, really don't need to be replaced, because black goes with anything. It will be cheaper the next time around.
So spend the extra cash on yourself (no need to tell the hubby).
cheers !!!

black -- black black black appliances. I can't stress that enough. White appliances statsically bring down the value of your home because they don't look "espensive" If you can afford it go for stainless steele -- or the look alikes -- that will really sell. Don't do the white -- you don't match your appliances to the trim -- but to the overall scheme of the place. So long as they are all one color =-- ie black ..then they will look fine!

My vote would be for white appliances. In a medium priced starter home I think this would be appropriate. Good luck!

I think with the beige walls and white trim and cabinets, black would look more sophisticated than white.

Ok its all about size, If the kitchen is big then go w/ the black, but if small use white, makes the kitchen alot bigger. Both go with stainless steel by the way---- Good luck.

i have had both colors in my kitchen. white doesn't show fingerprints, black does.
black app. look good and contemporary and can really look shiny and in a new kitchen that is what you want. but also it shows grease, fingerprints and food spills more than white.
white on the other hand looks cleaner and doesn't show prints or grease as bad.
but with the colors you have described i think black would look best.

if you do not want to pay more fot the stainless steel...keep it neutral and go with white...many buyers are turned off by colored appliances...and if they want a different color...they do not feel bad about changing from white to something else...buyers are fickle...appeal to the masses.
