A research study was conducted among a large group of people; all ages, all levels of education, ect. based on the following. The results were surprising...

What is better than God?
What is worse than the Devil?
The Poor have it.
The Rich need it.

WHAT IS IT?

A class of Kindergateners answered seconds after given the description and they had the right answer. I tested it out on my kids... 7 yrs & 11 yrs. My 11 year old is above average in school, my 7 yr old is more "creative" (the slacker). I could NOT believe it when my 7 yr old had the answer almost emmediately... My 11 yr old thought about it for a minute and came up with the answer.

Until the 7yr old said the answer I was still stumped, but it made since once I heard it.

The study concluded that adults try to analylize things and actually make things harder than they really are.

How long did it take you to come up with the answer? Are you surprised by the conclusion?

I don't think it's possible to "think too much." The only problem that many people have is trouble rationalizing. The older you get, the more experience you have to draw on. Different people will react to the same problem in different ways. 7 year olds aren't going to have the problem of rationalizing things because (to a degree) they are still innocent and have no life experience. Move them ahead 10 or 20 years, ask them that question and they would probably be just as confused as I am.

I don’t see it as a child versus adult issue. Bless the children.

Children are, by nature, spontaneous and uninhibited – until they reach a certain age, or until they are taught the great adult mysteries of inhibition!

No, I’m not surprised by your conclusion, as children are anything but predictable, as you would know!

I disagree though, that adults think too much. On the contrary, I find that most local adults don’t think enough! If they have not heard about it, if society has not already embraced it, if it is not popular – adults avoid it like the plague! Really, I would like to see more adults break out of the boxes of the multiple-choice-question mentality.

My answers for you:

Goddess?

Mankind.

Hunger.

Humility.

Immediate response. 10 minutes to read, type and edit. I’m writing out my train of thought as it flows.

The answer is "Nothing" !
Age 50+
Thinking process usually seems to increase with age, but it is the repetitive thinking of over-anxiety items that occupies the mind most of the time, and doesn't allow space for creative thinking. The modern day's fast paced life, complexities, responsibilities seems to take a big toll of man's creativity !

Nothing. Took me about a minute. It's a neat test. Makes me think that all the testing they do in school may be a bit misguided. What if we encouraged creative thought more often when kids were young? Maybe we'd have more inventors. Waldorf anyone?

Nothing.

I hadda look it up!

I think adults think too much because we have more on our mind than kids do. The more we learn the more there is to sift through in our heads. It's tougher to think clearly with the pressures and responsiblilites of everyday life that kids don't have to deal with... yet.
